Just lost a hard earned 262 to mass disco. No damage, just cruising towards a fight.

It's not HiTechs fault but, if # of slots are limited could perked rides be prioritized to be put back in flight?

First come first serve

Even if we still didn't have re-connect the risk is still yours. And if it WAS a server-end disconnection no perks are lost. If it was an ISP mass disco or a hub disco then it is still your risk either way and first come first serve...

Only those that fly Spit16s, La7s and P51D as their main rides don't... so, 80% of the players  :P
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

Even with flying mid ENY rides, the average MA pilot takes a long time to gather the perks for even a single Me 262. And by 'long', we are speaking about months, not days...  :old:

La5 is 30 ENY which is crazy. Mean effective ENY by your stats is around 12 iirc. It takes probably around 70-80 kills in La5 to get a 262, assuming you land some of them, and a large fraction of the players can do that in 1 tour or less. In any case, fewer 262s is better for the game.

Actually only a small (~20%) fraction of the players get so many (or more) kills in attack and fighter mode combined in a single tour. And that's with their favourite plane set and not in the La-5 - which is indeed absurdely overpowered for an ENY 30 plane, but still would probably increase the difficulty for many players to get their share of kills in.

The median kill/h for all players with at least 10 fighter sorties in tour 177 was 3.55 and their median total time in fighter+attack mode was about 13h. There are not that many fighter perks Joe Average will be able to earn in a tour with stats like that. Something 50 perks / tour is probably a good estimate of average perk gain per tour, 100 perks should set you significantly above average.

Back in the day, when I was making about fighter 1,000 perks per tour myself,  I would have thought "200 perks for a 262, piece of cake", but that was before I was able to analyze the actual stats of all other pilots. Later I realized how much we old AH vets tend to overrate the capabilities and efforts of the average MA pilot.

perhaps you should ask why I have thousands of perks and not how long it took me to earn them.

ok I have been playing for about 8 years.  3 or 4 times I have given up accounts with thousands of perks just to change names or because I rage quit.  I have had this account for about 5 years now maybe a little longer.  I have been known the fly 262's to find cv's then bail out and bring b26's to sink them.  I once lost 8 out of 9 b29's because somebody dare me that i couldnt take off in them from a certain field.  I lost 2k tank perks once because I got into a firefight with dr7 with tigers as he would kill me, i would up then kill him.  we did that many times till I finally ran out of perks.  he still had a few thousand left, we had a good laugh.

so I answer his question.  now does he want to know why I have thousands of perks and not how long I have been playing?

No, anyone would know why you have thousands of perks due to the fact that you have a lengthy amount of time under your wings.

no, actually is because i dont waste them on some stupid 262 suicide run.  there was a guy that I knew that would up a tempest every time he got enough perks for one and he would die within 10 minutes.

and btw 80% of the players have been around for more than a couple of years and yet they dont have thousands of perks.  what does that tell you.
