LOL.  No it wouldn't.  It is an attack aircraft with very high wing loading.  It has the potential to do a lot of damage, but it is dead meat against almost anything in the air.

Due to its efficacy as an attack aircraft it is likely to be perked as well.

The GV players will not like the Hs 129. Which ever 30mm gun it comes with. Firing at sub 100 will pass the tungsten carbide round through the side armor of all but the TigerII with one shot. Shooting from farther out may not cause any damage. The greatest danger to it's pilots was smacking the tail section into the tanks turret pulling up.

The HS 129 won't make things worse to tanks in general than the Ju-87G, Il-2 and most probably the Hurri D either.
Besides, most A2G tank kills are made by tossing a bomb anway, so the threat level would not go up at all.

I fail to see any mention of that aircraft in my post.  I was stating that the very high wingloading on the A-26 means it will not do what you are claiming it will do.  The A-20G will soundly trounce an A-26 in air-to-air combat.  The A-26 is not a wonder plane.  The closest flight performance to the A-26 on a plane already in AH is probably the Me410.

Now I'm curious to how the Hs-129 would match up against the A-26... :headscratch:

Poorly. :p

A-26 is much faster, better climb and much more ordnance.  Just too much of a performance difference.

Hs129 would be more resistant to small arms fire though.  Guns on the Hs129 are, of course, more of a threat to an armored GV.  The threat to the GVs from the A-26 are bombs.

And the number of HVARs it could carry, 14 iirc.

I look forward to engaging each in a 110G and pounding them into scrap.  ;)
