It isn't so much a case of the hardware not meeting expectations as the drivers not doing so. The monitor can and has worked fine at 144hz for weeks, until the latest drivers came out, the last 3 have made 144hz either not work, or be problematic. Apparently the latest drivers if you set "use highest refresh rate possible" it WILL make 144hz work in game, but not on desktop, for now. So at least they are working on it.
Did you see anything regarding 144hz being dropped in those notes Chalenge? Do you have a link for this anywhere? I can't imagine them doing so after all the marketing around 144hz capable monitors like the Rog Swift, since it's sold out worldwide still to this day - something so popular being neutered in such a way would make a lot of angry customers, and cause a ton of returns, mine included, if they did so. What's the point of paying for 144hz if Nvidia takes it away?
