Driving a tank inside a shore battery
« on: November 28, 2014, 10:52:30 PM »
On the Mindanao map, opposing country gv'rs are able to drive tanks inside the north shore battery at field A1.  Tonight, a rook tank took up residence within the shore battery, killing any knight tanks that drove by.  I filmed it, and when I replayed it and jumped in his tank, he was under the shore battery, with a full unobstructed view of the vehicles driving past, and shooting them at will.  When I panned up, I actually saw the underside of the shore artillery piece floating in the air overhead.  The concrete itself was invisible.  We, however, we were unable to see him or shoot him.  I have it on film and emailed it in to support.  Waiting to hear back.

This has happened before the shore batt was destroyed at some point creating an opening that let him drive in. When the shore batt is repaired the tank is basically invisible. Bombing him was your only option at this point in time.

Same thing happened to me when I was camping a VH once.  I got shot under the port and had both unobstructed views of all enemy vehicles driving around above me, and the ability to shoot them.  I drove around and tracked them for a while until I got bored and put it on youtube.

If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Lyric, I was flying with the Knights when this was going on he was driving into an unharmed Shore Battery. He was doing it at every opportunity. I bombed him twice. I was almost ready to switch to the rooks when there was about 10 guys on the knights who were trying to figure out how he did it and were stacked up against the Shore Battery.

There is a similar bug that allows certain GVs to glitch into buildings in TT. The walls have no hit box for rounds fired from inside, meaning they can shoot out but nobody can shoot back in. The walls are also invisible from the inside meaning that you can see out unimpeded but others can not see you inside (unless your barrel is sticking through the wall). I may still have a film that I made about how to get inside, I think I sent it to HTC so they could fix the bug... but I can't remember.

A simple solution to this problem would be to make the opposite side of any texture black or some other color that way the player wouldn't be able to see out and making the glitch useless.

Update:  Skuzzy got back to me and assured me the glitch has been fixed.

The glitch has not been fixed as was repeatedly demonstrated by a particular Rook last night. I filmed it and looked at it later. From the position of the the rook tank, the SB was not visible at all, he was just sitting on the little knoll where the SB should have been and could see, and kill any visible tanks, but not be seen himself. The only way to rid the knucklehead from his little nook was to drop eggs on the SB.

Skuzzy, if you want the film I can send it. Later, I went back and proved how it could be done, and have that film also.

I thought no bugs were being fixed because of the upcoming update.
