Also has anyone noticed how similar the whole Orion rocket and the re-entry pod look to the Apollo rockets and re-entry pod? I'm not sure if this speaks to lack of creativity nowdays or if the technology Nasa invented back in the 60's was just that good. Either way I'm still super excited for this program.

I was telling my wife that it seems funny to me that in order to go further into the future of space exploration we had to go backwards in design. I think this is the ultimate proof of the KISS methodology (Keep It Simple Stupid.)

I was mad they scrubbed the launch the first day. It was clear skies and I would have been able to it from my backyard. The day they launched was cloudy and I didn't get to see it.  :frown:

Yeah it's really weird but exciting to. I was born far to late to see anything from the apollo era but it fascinates me the most out of any of the space programs Nasa has had.

I'm jealous though. One of these days I'm gonna take a mini vacation down there to watch a launch. I'm gonna wait for the SLS though.
