Petiton To Bring Back CrabbyLand #2
« on: December 10, 2014, 01:02:40 AM »
My wish is for staged missions to hopefully stay on the short-list after the terrain update..

For Those Who Do Not Know What They Are...

Staged missions are user-created flight paths that are populated by NPC. In other words bots that fly pre-dertermined paths and have both the ability to be flying targets or actual combat partners "up to 2 engaged at a timer per live user". Combat-wise they can defend themselves passively as bombers "very accurate since their gunnery is based upon the game's lead computed gunsight" or as live maneuvering fighters that are able to access the fullest turning ability possible for each and every model. But they are ignorant when it comes to BnZ but it's more fun knife-fighting them anyways... And of course with the accuracy stated above...

They make excellent training tools and have potential in the SEA and AvA. And to nutcases like myself I enjoy making scenarios featuring proper planesets and terrains along with combat training missions for fun and learning.

I miss CrabbyLand :(

I hope the missions get folded into the MA. I would love to see random Bomber runs and fighter sweeps, and would help bulk up the area when its a little quite.

I would like to see these things in the MA.  However, when the AI bombers attack a field, having them carpet bomb the whole thing would be best.  Let players deal with towns and strats.  But how could you get it to have varied bomber types and numbers?  Personally I wouldn't want to constantly see B-17's all the time.  I'd like to see Lancs, 111's and even the G4M1's.  17's will have a formation of 18 but G4M1's will have double?  Adjusting numbers based off of bomber's defensive ability.

For box standard, B-17's, B-24's and B-26's.  Something is better than nothing. :)

Staged missions and custom arenas are great training tools.  My small squad and I would probably never have learned to dive bomb with out using one that puts us in a heavy fighter at 10000 feet over an enemy target with only 2 or 3 minutes time invested, then repeat.  Current problem in using them for B17 practice is drones drop all ords at once on player release regardless of salvo setting for player and don't open and close doors on player command.  I sign the petition to fix the staged mission problems.

Staged missions can be set on a rounded schedule, flight paths can be made universal to accomidate many bomber types along with the size of each flight varying between basic formations of solo, wing, box, finger-four, and even delta and diamond.  And you would probably never want to approach NPC anyways... It would be like a horde of 999 shades...

I'd love to have them for a training tool, just to practice gunnery against relatively predictable maneuvering opponents without having to inconvenience other players to be a target drone for practice.

I think they'd have potential for use in arenas, especially in the AvA.  I'd be curious to see how MA missions like this would work out.  I'm thinking a few buffs hitting an enemy base that people could attack or fly escort for.  Have them able to perhaps knock a town down 50% or something along those lines.

Just something for people to possibly rally behind and get them moving somewhat in the same direction.
If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.
