The company running commander has gone under, and Steam has changed the way it's servers are hosted. Connecting to the servers is a pain in the behind. Download this instead: http://dayzlauncher.com/

Just downloaded standalone. Guy came up to me, led me to a body being watched by a sniper, had me grab the loot and run into a building, then killed me and looted my body so he could get the stuff safely  :cry.

Spend the next 15 min getting a gun and found him in the same building he murdered me in. One shot to the head  :devil.

Both the mod and standalone have their share, but it's a lot less now that there are no public hacks out.

I so in love with the VSS that IRL I'm looking at getting a Chiappa M1-9mm, and fitting with with a nice scope and suppressor setup (maybe cut the barrel a bit for a tight suppressor fit). Nice thing about the 9mm is you can buy off the shelf subsonic ammo. Figure it will make a decent bunny/goat gun.

I've been in the same boat as you Frenchy, I've had it for a while but never played it much for the same reason as you. I'm not at the computer right now and I can't remember my steam name, but if anyone's interested pm me and I'll be able to give you my steam name. :cheers:
