Does anyone email HTC first about this sort of stuff and discuss the chat records for understanding? Every time it seems to start here it ends here with a stunning revalation of the three sides to the story. Theirs, yours, and the factual truth.
Not saying none of this is true but historically speaking it rarely is. Similar to a mod saying they are a mod. Not likely to happen if they are truly a mod but if it did they would no longer be one. Also easily identified by those same chat records.

There is a very easy solution....

If you get a warning about doing or saying something, STOP DOING IT. Some people just cannot understand that concept without tears of "why oh why are they picking on me"  :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry
See Rule 19- Do not place sausage on pizza.

IF, what Alpini says he said, is actually what he said, how is it politics? World changing? That could be Facebook to Bieber and in between or IBM vs Apple and not involve politics.

However, as mentioned above it often seems to be we hear the truth last.
They're casting their bait over there, see?

I wonder how many people have quit because of folks who think it's okay to spout their drivel in the arena?

Many, I suspect.

What I find a tad bit funny is the "flamers" in the thread.

For example Schref or whatever your name is. You added your two cents but who honestly cares? You're talking about "so quit" how about you ignore if this thread bothers you, no one here is forcing you to read it. I'm glad you have acquired the extremely useful skill of reading over the years but I promise you aren't required to read every thread.

Ripley you never have anything good to say so I don't even bother reading your replies anymore. You classify everything as a whine or a cry. How about focusing some energy to getting better at the game. We get it you can spot a whine.

This is my 2cents and my whine, flame me please.

HTC does have a puritanical code of conversation.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I've PMed skuzzy once or twice when I got a post deleted here, asking how it violated a rule. While we didn't see eye-to-eye on the issue, he was very polite, and I know the line to avoid now.

That being said,

Many have quit for sure because of the censorship. Grown ups don't like to be nannied.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I understand their point, that this is a family-friendly game and site, and so I can understand things of an inappropriate nature ('Adult' content, swearing, etc.) being off limits, when they banned political discussions in the forums, I really stopped checking in. There are a lot of very intelligent people here, much more so than I am in this area, and I enjoyed the discussions and actually learning things from my fellow AH pilots, and things feel rather empty now that everyone is tip-toeing around. It's their game to do what they want, certainly, I just wanted to agree that I'm not fond of how long the list of "no-nos" is getting.

Perhaps they could start a purely politics only section. Or make it one available to paid subscribers. Dunno. But they really don't need to when you consider there are plenty of political forums out there so no need to have a section of their own here. Politics and religion are touchy areas well covered in many other forums and all have their own set of problems that would be the same problem here.

Discussing politics or religion in MA or in the forums is ok as long as you don't diss Republicans or Bible Belt Christianity

remember the moderators are there to moderate.   i ,in no way challenged a moderator. i simply asked who the moderator was.   what if someone wants to contact the moderator for another reason?

and to respond to jeep....YES i emailed hitech on this matter. i have gotten NO reply as of yet.  which would be another reason for someone wanting to know who a moderator is during hours when the office is closed.  maybe a person wants to ask someone in charge a question and dosent want to wait 3 days for a reply.
