Jim Harbaugh new coach of Michigan Wolverines?
« on: December 28, 2014, 02:23:08 AM »
Could it be true?  Is Harbaugh headed to Michigan?  I had thought it was a crazy, impossible dream, but it might be that the stars are aligning.

Do you really want him?

Because he can bring wins or respect? I'm not sure if the two can be packaged together with him.

I'm not a fan of his ways/behavior. His brother is much more respectable imo.

Btw, someone tell him he doesn't play anymore and therefore does not need to warm up before the game  :lol

LOL... there goes that argument.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

He's their Michigan Man and the only hire that will work for them. The only one who will not be undermined and be given the time it takes to build the program by their insufferable boosters, alumni etc.

They simply have to have him.

LOL... there goes that argument.

Not that I'm aware of; Jon Harbaugh obviously didn't knock anyone out. The Raven's front office sent the tape to the NFL; the NFL "didn't look" at it. Not that the tape matters much, Rice said he punched his girlfriend, knocking her out; did the US really need to see it to know he's a scumbag? The behavior of dragging her out of the elevator like a ded animal; that's something different.

None of which to my knowledge has anything to do with Jon Harbaugh. Is there something I've not read???

Yeah I heard this aswell, also the tickets for Tuesdays BBall game have had their price skyrocket. Does Michigan want him? Hell yes and I think he will be successful back at home just like he has been on every level. Is his personality a problem? I don't think so; at the college level kids in college are trying to make it unlike pros, who have said that Harbaugh treats them like college kids. After hoke and his laid back ways I welcome Jim home and can't wait for him to light a fire under some butts and shows some personality. As for warming up what's wrong with leading by example or maybe its just a way for him to blow of some pre game jitters. I also think he will do a better job of developing players Than Hoke, I think it was time for Hoke to go as his record got worse every year and IMO the offense regressed. Granted he never got a QB he recruited all year as a starter but the way DG regressed and how Shane and Russell Bellomy looked completely unready to play at the college level was enough for me. The oline did get better towards the end of this year tho. I am hearing that Mattison will stick around and that DJ Durkin will also be hired as either a co-defensive coordinator with Mattison or Mattison will take a lesser title as serve as a kind of tutor to Durkin. I'm also hearing that Ty Wheatly will be brought on in some capacity(maybe even Offensive Coordinator) which would be an awesome move. In terms of NFL being way better than College and the fact that no Really successful coach has left the NFL for college when there were job openings/offers, I think this set a precedent where good NFL coaches in the future will look at the College jobs as a possibility, especially the younger coaches that can take a job in college for a few years than return to the NFL which I think Harbaugh will do, after getting 'Home' back in order.

So because a player does something bad and the coach leaves it up to the management to make a decision, he's a bad coach.

Since being Ravens head coach, 1 superbowl, 6 trips to the playoffs.

I was merely addressing Rot's claim.   Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes.

Because I think he is a great coach with a track record of being a great coach.

I don't know anything about his behavior.

OK, I'll let him know that you think he shouldn't warm up before a game.

Now, if it were only the case that you'd take the job for $48 million, I'd protest against Harbaugh getting it and would lobby for you getting it instead.  Are you sure you won't change your mind?

I think when he matures, he'll be a great coach. He pals around with players, that may actually work well for him in a college setting again.

Question is really do you think he'll be good for your team? I'll put this from my frame, I'm a CSU alumni and big fan of our small yet feisty football program. Would I want Jim Harbaugh, no. Not because he'd leave and take more $, lets say hypothetically that would not happen; it's because I don't think he brings respect from the collective and larger community with him, it's not an asset of his.

CSU's program, albeit small, has a rich history with the legacy of Sonny Lubick; the brats and behavior problems go to CU (Boulder) and we like it that way. Anywho I digress...

If all you want is wins, no matter no how; then he's your guy.
