AI Country Re-fueling Birds
« on: January 03, 2015, 01:51:52 PM »
Each country could have a number of refueling birds depending on the size of the map.  These aircraft could be at set altitudes, unable to be damaged, marked on the clipboard map with a distinct color icon, run a flight pattern marked by red waypoints on the map.  You would simply fly within close proximity and stay there for say 30 seconds to replenish your fuel in your aircraft.  The birds could even be set-up to be controlled by each country like task groups are.  The idea isn't some ground breaking thought, but it could add a new dimension to the game.

Be prepared to be ripped apart by the game's very own forum professors and PHD holders. They know whats best for the game more than anyone else!

If you see the positive in it, surely you can actually post how instead of commiserating with 1ijac before he's 'ripped apart.'

Actually, they were working on the refueling in the 1930s.  During WWII, the Allies successfully refueled a B-17 with a B-24.  The need decreased until just after the war, so technically it did happen.   :)

It happened but it wasn't really implemented until after the war. A single tractor prop plane couldn't refuel using the system. It doesn't rearm the plane. I'm not seeing the usefulness.  :salute 1ijac Keep thinking outside the box and sharing. Thanks.

I'd be ok with them as long as they were in out of the way locations and set at 100 feet off the ground  :devil

If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.
