I work in the IT dept of a small corporation and WE USE malwarebytes. its a great program!! we have all win7 machines and it still saves us.

My experience is there is no 1 shoe fits all in defending and defeating virus's, trojans,maleware. etc.

Its best to keep an assortment of tools handy.
My main AV is still Nod32, I also have malewarebytes. But dont keep it active all the time. I use it more as a tool.

On my PC as well as on a USB stick I have a copy of malewarebytes, Combofix, and Rkill.

Keeping a copy of these on a USB stick comes in handy for some of your nastier stuff and if you have a family that isnt quite as diligent about keeping their PC clean as you are

If you have to resort into disinfection tools you have already failed at protecting your corporation. Once the machine is infected it can upload your whole database to the attacker in a couple of hours.

you're right, unfortunately there's reasons for it, which I cant got into. all I can say is the way they run the systems, keeps me in a job. otherwise they'll outsource everything like they did with most of our people.

Bottom line, Malwarebytes is a great tool no matter what the reason!

Dreadiock  has the right idea here when playing our game  it is not necessary to be running anti virus which uses cpu and ram . keeping them on a USB stick is a good idea as well . in fact i have 3 external hard drives that hold  1 terabyte each where i store all my personal stuff  music videos photos etc .
   back in the old days you had to open the file to get a virus, emails attachments etc. now days just opening a web page which may seem harmless can infect you .   having an array of virus protecting tools is necessary but 1 thing to remember is these virus protecting programs can only help with known infections . who knows what the future brings keeping them updated is a priority

lets just say that they wont listen to the smarter people that work for them and because of it, malwarebytes is a great tool for the arsenal!!
