I'm overwhelmed x55 rhino
« on: February 03, 2015, 09:53:48 PM »

Lots of bells and whistles!  Going to be a few days figuring out how to make it all work! But it is sweet!
And works well, if just off line so far,,!

Whiskey its a good stick but very light on construction... be very careful as I broke mine and they don't offer replacement for it.

So, what's the verdict, WWiskey? How do you like it?

Can you set all functions within AH?

I really like it,, very good control, lots of switches so yes, I think you can get everything in it!
The throttle is a little stiffer than I wanted, so out came the Velcro  but the stick itself is plenty heavy and stays put just fine!  And I've got it tuned as I did with my x-52 pro yet seem to have more Usable control but it's still early!

whisky the throttle has a knob that makes it easier to move back and forth look towards the left of the throttle and adjust.

What I meant was if your can set the functions of each button/switch/control from within AH, or do you need to use some intermediate software that comes with the set. Sorry, I wasn't very clear about that. Thanks for the review!

Guncrasher  I've spun that wheel both ways as far as it will go!

Rolex, it maps from AH map controls part of the clipboard just like all the others, hope that's what your asking!
I didn't download any extra software for it, I did look for an AH profile but found none, I bet some other players here who use it could put one together tho!

Switches at the base aside, the buttons on throttle and stick are necessary if you want to implement all the functions of a F-16. The Hotas Warthog, for example, is perfect for the A-10, but doesn't have a rotary for antenna elevation. "as many buttons as the real thing" sounds good, but ideally you want more buttons and levers! If I'm not mistaken, this joystick is the best in the market in that regard. Can "implement" any 4th gen. fighter.

... so that's what I would do if I were the OP, fly DCS A-10 and Falcon BMS to break in the buttons a little :)

Don't worry I managed to obtain number 1 fighter position one tour with only a Microsoft Precision Pro twisty stick. It's about skill and grind, not the gear. Of course good gear helps.

thanks sir! It is lots of fun to fly with all the bells and whistles ,, but as MrRipley points out,, the skills aren't in the tools but in the operator, and I get beaten regulary by guys with nothing hardly at all
