As I said go away troll. Finland declared war on Germany after it signed an unconditional cease fire with Russia. Russians demanded that Finland pushed the German troops out of the Northern Finland.

Roosevelt did nothing except provide weapons for the russians in order to continue their illegal rampage against our country. And now they're repeating history in Ukraine and Transnistria.

The U.S. is not providing arms to Russia.  Maybe you meant something different.

Honey believe me after dispatching Germany, Finland would be no obstacle, So "saved" is an overstatement.
P.S. Ukrainian president flashed "Russian passports" from "Russian" dead soldiers in Ukraine, but everyone knows that solders do not Cary passports. And Ukraine recently provided US senate with evidence of  "Russian tanks", turns out pictures were taken from Georgian conflict in 2008.

You're absolutely correct. It is not, and when it was, the name of the country was Soviet Union. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lend-Lease

Stop trolling. The war was already OVER with Soviet Union and Finland by the time Finland declared war to the germans. What is there so hard to understand?

The United States was never even a part of the negotiations. Did KGB join the Russian information warfare corps perhaps? They have hundreds of trolls feeding misinformation as a full day job. Expect a knock on the door from NSA if you live in the states lol.

KGB why dont you get lost for turning this into a flame fest.

Ripley America owed nothing to Finland in WW2 nor did we do anything to her. You collaborated with the Nazi's until it became clear that was a wrong decision then you kicked them out and learned to live with the Reds in your backyard. In Finlands defense they protected their Jews and the Finnish SS units have never been accused of war crimes.

None of this has anything to do with saluting the life of a Finnish Hero so just put this KGB guy on ignore and he'll go <poof>.

We collaborated with the nazis as the last option in order to defend the country from unwarranted Russian aggression. France promised to help Finland. United Kingdom promised to help Finland. The US promised to help Finland. The list continues. In the end nobody came to assist. We were left alone at 10 to 1 odds.  By 1941 all the 'helpers' were already allied with Russia so the only super power that could supply arms and assist was Germany. Either collaborate with them or die, two options.

Quote from wikk
"In December 1941, the Finnish army took defensive positions. This led to a long period of relative calm in the front line, lasting until 1944. During this period, starting at 1941 but especially after the major German defeat in the Battle of Stalingrad, intermittent peace inquiries took place. These negotiations did not lead to any settlement.
On 16 March 1944, the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, called for Finland to disassociate itself from Nazi Germany."
During WW2 Finland was a side show for USSR, nothing major until 1944, single offence almost depleted Finnish forces in June. I emagine that was a reason for promt peace talk.
Cease fire was agreed on September fourth, armistice was signed on 14's of September, when it was obvious that germany is doomed, conditions of treaty demanded to engage germans in Lapland.

Don't try to explain that Russia isn't involved in the conflict. They admitted it themselves by accepting the negotiations. They also made a mistake of admitting that the separatists have a weapon system that is not exported out of Russia lol.

Yes you're trolling. You're crapping over this thread with your bs. Roosevelt made the plea before the Tali-Ihantala battle where the Finns stopped the vastly superior (in numbers) Russian force. He did not save anything. If the finnish army didn't stop the russians Helsinki would have been captured and we'd now be ex Soviet Union like the rest of the eastern europe.

Quote
During World War II, Finland was in many ways a unique case: It was the only European country bordering the Soviet Union in 1939 which was still unoccupied by 1945. Of all the European countries fighting, only three European capitals were never occupied: Moscow, London and Helsinki. It was a country which sided with Germany, but in which native Jews and almost all refugees were safe from persecution.[26] It was the only co-belligerent of Nazi Germany which maintained democracy throughout the war. It was also the only belligerent in mainland Europe to do so.
