Super Heavy Tanks - Wishlist
« on: February 15, 2015, 01:19:36 PM »
Hello, Allie again  :t

So I've done a wishlist topic on ideas for some super heavy bombers. But thats not all on my mind. Cmon, you guys know me... I have insane ideas  :D

Today, its all about the super heavy tanks.
We dont really have any super heavy tanks in AH right now. I dont like to count the Tiger II as one either.
Im talking about the behemoths of the GV fields. The 29's of the ground.

Things like the unstoppable IS-7 and the Pz.VIII Maus! And maybe even a Lowe.
Other than heavy bombers, tanks are my special love in war. And not the tiny early tanks. THE BIG ONES.

A few ideas for some super heavies...
My fav tank of all time... The Maus!
The ever so stronk soviet... the IS-7!
The hybrid... the Lowe!

We already have the behemoths of the sky, now we need something that will make you crap yourself when you see it turn a corner in a town  :lol
A few specs

Pz.VIII Maus-
6 man crew. 1 Driver, 1 Radio Op, 1 Commander, 1 Gunner, 2 Loaders.
A 1750 HP engine.
(From what I remember) Has a speed limit of about 8-10 Mph.
Hull armor- 200mm in front (sloped), 185mm on sides, 160 in rear.
Turret armor- 240mm in front, 210mm on sides (sloped), 210 in back.
4 shells/min fire rate.
12.8cm KwK 44 L/55 gun, with up to 250mm of penetration.
Produced from 1942-1944 with 2 prototypes made. 1 was completed with full armor and armament.

IS-7-
5 man crew. 1 Driver, 1 Gunner, 1 Commander, 2 Loaders (one also was Radio Op).
A 1050 HP engine.
Speed limit of 37 mph.
Hull armor- 150mm in front (sloped), 150mm on sides, 100 in rear.
Turret armor- 240mm in front (rounded and sloped), 185mm on sides (rounded and sloped), 94mm in rear (rounded and sloped).
4 shells/min fire rate.
130mm S-70 gun, with up to 250mm of penetration.
Produced from 1945-1947, never saw mass production but deployed successfully.

VK 70.01 Löwe-
5 man crew. 1 Driver, 1 Gunner, 1 Commander, 1 Loader, 1 Radio Op.
A 1650 HP engine.
Speed limit of 20mph.
Hull armor- 120mm in front, 100mm in sides, 80mm in back.
Turret armor- 120mm in front (sloped and rounded), 100 in sides (sloped and rounded), 100 in back (sloped and rounded).
5 shells/min fire rate.
10,5cm KwK L/70 gun, with up to 235mm of penetration.
Several experimental variants produced. Canceled by Germany to produce larger, Heavier tanks.

The IS-7 was post WWII and never entered production.
The Lowe never made it further than the drawing board.
The Maus had a couple prototypes that got captured by Russians.

You need to know what the requirements are for a GV to be added first. After that you can restrict your requests to those vehicles that apply.

<RD> Vudu.... :rofl
Pershing
1 requirement is....seen action and it did, more so than the 163 did I think. So I think it would be a good add to game. More info here

May World of Whatever's influence on the AH wishlist always be inconsequential compared to its influence on the game.

Just sayin'.

I recall HiTech saying something along the lines of, "It has to have seen combat to be included.".  So if it saw combat, then it can be included.  The TB-3 is a prime example if you think about it.  Even though the USSR stopped construction of it a few years before the war, it was in squadron strength and saw quite a bit of combat in the early parts of Operation Barbarossa.  It was also used in the Winter War against Finland, so this would make it eligible.

Yes, I want to see the TB-3 added.  No, not because of that weird configuration where it had like 4 I-16's on it's wings.  Yes, it would be a hanger queen BUT, we would be a step closer to FINALLY doing a Winter War FSO/Scenario, which I would REALLY love to do.  A proper one at that, no substitutes.  Like getting the TBD added for Coral Sea and Battle of Midway, instead of subbing it with the TBM.  Ki-45 for EVERYTHING Japanese related instead of the subbed 110C.  Things like that. :)

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead
