my daughter loves planes but is too young for facebook so I joined this group for her to look at planes and it is all women pilots and stuff     more efficient, but moves half the air?    I dunno kinda makes sense

IMHO it's just an article about an unusual prop that actually works, even though our sense of logic says differently. I think that the most important reason for it not being used, as the article says, was the advent of the 50 hp engine. Personally, I think it's neat, though I would never fly in that plane,lol.
