Mission participation perk multiplier ?
« on: October 24, 2001, 07:57:00 PM »
Someone mentioned it in a threat here... i thought about it couple of days...

It would be nice if your perks earned be mupliplied by X ( x2 for example ? ) if you took off as a participant in the mission...

Secondly, as a part of mission planning - CO could be required to achieve a goal. ie:

-if 3 attack planes in a mission - needs 6 ground targets destoyed for success.

-if 3 fighters - need 5 kills together for success and 50% landing rate

- if 3 bombers - need 15 targets destroyed for success

SO on. Negotiable.

If mission is deemed a success, all perkies are multiplied by X.

Well ?

I like it.  Not sure what the exact numbers should be, but I like the idea.

Well, if you like it so, fly alone.

Generally I like mission perk point idea, but that could cause serious BOM!

Batlle Of Mission!

"Hey out from this mission dude! This mission is only for my Mean-Young-Absured-Sarcastic-Sardins squad palls so get a hike jer!k"

"Oh yeah? I do my own mission and capture that enemy field before you!!!"

"NEW MISSION START IN 5MIN! JOIN UP NOW!"  *  100.

X = Jazz

As exciting as it is to participate missions, most of the time they are just gang bangs in disquise.

The idea is sweet - put together planes and pilots for mission target...but we miss defencive missions.

So, we need some sort of automatic mission builder for defence, that on the other hand, needs target announcement and will lose the surprise.

Well...it's hard to get right.

What do you think a well planned mission in RL would be?

Perks for missions is a good idea, I like it.

Excellent idea!

But make the mission builder "deposit" a hundred perks or so to create it.

If there were a "deposit" for missions Ghosth, what would it be for....just to create a mission? Or are you putting it on the line so to speak as if you were upping a perkplane? If so, the mission builder would lose perks if the mission failed to meet it's objectives? In that case we would see fewer missions than we do know and I think that would be counter productive in the quest to raise more missions. Just wondering what you meant, you provided no explanation. At first glance it seems like a bad idea.

I believe that hooli meant that we don't really need a bunch of anal mission types to have more perk anythings.   We certainly don't want to encourage boring mission type play.

How bout... You get to take, oh, say 10  perk points off everyones score for every furball you attend?  That encourage fun and worthy behavior in the arena.

And for you b0z0's who have nothing constructive to say....Your not being forced to join a mission. Soo if you think it's anal, or just a spawn of furballs and dont' like it, we don't need your input...mmmmmmkay   :D

Ok acid.... let's just leave it at... " a mission should be it's own reward".   How's that?   You don't need any friggin idiotic perk points for it and we certainly don't need to bribe more people to participate in such behavior.

If it's fun.. people will do it.

I've gotta put my 2 cents in here:

The Mission Planner in my eyes, took care of a problem we had in Warbirds where we all wanted to coordinate an attack, but we ended up with planes that had different fuel loads, different ord load outs, bad communication, delayed start times and basic confusion.  It could only really be done at a Event or squad level to be deemed successful.  What the Mission planner in AH is make that coordination simpler.  To say that one should get more perkies for joining is IMO insane. YOur still doing the same thing you would be doing if you did not join, except someone has been kind enough to pre-load, pre-determine your aircraft/target for you, still leaving you the option whether or not you want to join it.

I have no fewer than 50 pre-made missions.  They take about 1 min to edit and load.  If you ever want to launch a mission yourself (and you flight knit), contact me online, I will post the mission (with your aircraft type) in a matter of nano-seconds, with your name.  The only thing you have to do from there on out is to SAVE the mission so that you have it for YOUR future access.
