Widewing I always thought you had a Giulia Sprint. Your 58 (beauty) was a Normale or Veloce? That Midget is still smurgly decades later  :old:

It was a Spider Speciale, according to the badges. It had a Solex carburetor and tube headers. I had to rebuild the transmission....It was rust free, but the chrome was somewhat pitted. I had to helicoil all of the spark plug threads... Just wear.. Old aluminum heads often need that. I had to replace all of the seals in the wheel cylinders because the previous owner didn't use the correct Girling brake fluid. I sold it for a lot more than I paid, including the repairs.
My regards,

No Frenchy, it was the inner joint.

(Image removed from quote.)

Forgot also when I washed the car or it rained heavy it would be hard to start. Water went down the hood louvres.

Gotcha. I'm planing on Canley's Classic CV joint conversion as well as the aluminum hubs since it's an another weak spot. (Like if the GT6 didn't have enough lol). When I was doing track days at MMP all I could think of was that video :

oldskool65, there's a saying in USA's tuners/week end racers 'The answer is always Miata:devil ... or an E30 BMW with E30specs suspensions of choice. http://spece30.com/. Those are pretty cheap bang for the bucks for dedicated race cars that everyone can afford. (Because deep down inside I know that MG ain't going to cut it for too long for you). :old:

I'm not sure how "cheap" is cheap, but a Lotus Europa is a mighty fine little number.

My older brother auto-crossed an early '80's RX-7 for several years although he stiffened the suspension and made a few other tweaks to the car.  He did pretty well.  And I think you're right, off-the-floor Miatas also do well but so did Dodge Neon's for several years.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

WE don't have Miata's here but iv'e had a bmw e 30 for street racing (2 L 6cyl) must admit fast and handled well but too costly to modify
I removed the rear seats, spare wheel, stereo, all the sound reduction paddingand some of the panels replaced with plastic ones ,fitted an induction and a de cat zorst oh yea a remap to i was running just under 200 bhp at the flywheel through 205 , 50 , 15 pirrellis
Of course I'm right I'm British
