The standard claim made by all the instructors in UPT was that "given enough bananas, I could teach a monkey to fly."

I guess that was meant to reassure us.  ;)

Actually, none of us have any skill at all.

It's all done with autopilot now; we never ever touch anything except to taxi.

In fact, hiring is no longer based on flight experience.

Just ask an old UAL pilot .   :D
