I don't know if solar flare and strong solar wind can move the earth crust ,but read this bellow, some believe yes; interesting connections; 2 days before New Zealand  and Japan EQs, the Sun unleashed X class flares, and it takes about 45-50 hours for CME to hit the Earth.

Others who point to a relationship do not seem to be able show complete data sets to make their point.  They seem to have an observation here and there.

Follow the data I say.  What might happen in the next day or so would not be enough to overcome all the information that we have.  Some other additional explanation is going to be required to change scientific minds.

I think this flare might be the reason I got a visit from a thunderstorm a few minutes ago. Also was greeted by hail for the first time.
