Glock 9mm Single stack- finally
« on: March 20, 2015, 04:47:56 AM »
Many shooters have been after Glock since the early 90s to build a single stack 9mm pocket/defense sized pistol.  After the sales success of the .380 released about a year ago, they finally have created what everyone wanted.

Glock 43, 6+1 single stack 9mm.

Finally is right. The main reason I carry a P225/ 1911 is because of the single stack configuration. I don't have big hands, and some double stacks just don't fit and allow me to manipulate the gun comfortably doing quick mag exchanges. Should be intresting to get one of these in my paws.  (Still won't ever take the place of my 225  :aok )

I will be in the market for one. I dont carry bit it would be a nice pocket gun for hunting. The 380 just doesn't have the punch for finishing pigs in my experience. Also ammo cost is really attractive. Might be snappy in 9mm.

Just purchased my second stock class 34 a couple weeks ago. Didn't have any issues find a good deal. Glock has had a issue with their first runs especially the g41 so I might wait a year before I buy one. My 41 runs good and I have had no issues. Shot it quite often this hunting season and just finished up my first case of ammo last weekend. For a small gun its very accurate up to 25 yards. At 100 I have a hard time with the sights but I can hit the plate quite often.

I had a Kimber thing for awhiles but their prices are just outrageous. I know its a nice pistol but theres a lot of players in the 1911 market right now giving you better value. BTW I shot a Glock 34 the other day and for you 1911 Lovers, like me, :D your probably better off not even trying one. Seriously this thing is balanced and machined beautifully and I can get one super cheap if I order it. A few changes and your breaking a crisp 3 1/2 lb trigger, its so damn easy to take apart and clean, so accurate and cheap to shoot.

I never thought I'd consider competing with anything but a 1911 but now have to consider it.

The only reason I even carry a 9 is because you can get ammo for it easily. .40, and .45 are impossible to find, and if you have to actually use reloads on someone then it opens you to a whole new level of litigation.

But still, I'm using Wilson Combat mods on a service-type Beretta with 20+1 mags. You have trouble concealing full size, Gman?

Except that if you go out looking for it in my immediate area you will come back empty handed. So, not a myth.

You are either right or wrong when it comes to criminal charges after a shoot. What kind of ammo you used has nothing to do with it.

In a civil case its all on the table but again the main thing is whether you had a reason to shoot or not. For me its different cause my legal bills wont be covered if I use anything but Dept. approved guns and ammo and have qualified with them. But even then the worse that could happen to me is i could get fired. It has no bearing in the criminal case.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything. Some life long scum bag try's to rob you and you ex him out and yeah, all of a sudden loving family members will pop up like pop corn to sue you. But criminally? As long as the investigation proves you were in reasonable fear of your life the make of the ammo you used doesnt matter one bit. Shoot him or hit him over the head with a shovel, you used deadly force because you were in fear of your life and thats the end of it.

Will there be repercussions? Yeah probably. But you wont go to the joint, hopefully.

I'd carry quality factory for other reasons then legality.

dunno what model it was.....but i shot a guys 9mm glock at the range today. to be honest, i wasn't impressed. the trigger didn't feel that fantastic to me, i wasn't any more accurate than i am with my beretta or my 1911, and it didn't really even feel any better in my hand.

i'm sure there's a reason so many of you like em......but i think i'll stick to what i have.....unless i stumble across a stupidly good deal on one.......

I'm sure it'll sell like crazy... but I can't figure out why except "because GLOCK"  :headscratch:

Seriously, if you wanted a single stack, striker fired, sub-compact 9mm.  It's not like there has been a shortage of fine firearms to choose from in the past several years.  M&P Shield, Springfield XDs, Walther PPS, Ruger LC9s and Kahr PM9 all come to mind off the top of my head, I'm sure there are others.  Also if you open your mind to hammer-fired then there are many more options.

But even though they are very late to the party, I'm sure Glock will outsell all of them for no good reason except the blind unshakeable devotion Glock fans seem to have.

I guess I just don't "get it" when it comes to Glocks.  Personally I feel there are so many other options out there with the same proven reliability, yet with much better ergonomics and triggers.
