Judging by how high some of these bomber guys are. I have to assume they are taking off, and going to the kids soccer game on climb out. Should they be booted?

Sure why not. If your not there to click a button then your not there to play the game. When I fly a buff I intend to run a full mission. The same as any other vehicle/plane. I may be watching a movie, but I'm sitting right in front of the computer doing scans to be sure no one is sneaking up on me.

If your not here to "play the game" why are you throwing away $15 a month on it? I just never understood that.

Ah, the old "my way is the only way" to play answer.  :bolt:

I don't think so.  After 15 (30?, 60?) minutes of no new control input, you get a popup that says "You are showing inactive and will be logged out automatically in 5 minutes"  and a button that says "Click here to remain logged in".

I'm no programmer, but I doubt thats a coding nightmare.

Step 1:  Calibrate joystick off center.
Step 2: Up Jeep.
Step 3: Profit.

How about x number of minutes of no change of controller input...or...keyboard input? That could account for off center cal.

But I can tell you there has been lengthy discussion on this topic and HiTech said no way is this an issue...period. So no changes to the game are ever going to happen regarding tower sitters, according to HiTech, no matter what you experience in game.

Autohotkey or other things like it negate it.  It was a while ago, but I recall a post from HT saying that's why he's not bothering trying to deal with tower sitters.  Anything they do is too easily circumventable.

install free "mouse jiggle" software, open clipboard map, bypass any control input code.

Yep, HTC isn't interested in booting inactive players.  I think that the percentage of folks who would spend more than 2 minutes trying to get around the "inactive" would be small, but its a non-issue since it isn't going change.  ENY very rarely bothers me in game.  Most of the stuff I fly or drive is rarely effected and when it is the stuff farther down the list is plenty of fun to use.  Its is a source of frustration for some and although I don't agree with a lot of what other folks get frustrated at in AH, I want players to be happy and stay so we have stuff to shoot at.

I think with a little brainstorming there are alternatives to how ENY works that would accomplish side balancing and produce less whining.

You can look at it that way if you want. I look it as a person wasting good money on a multi player game wanting to play alone.

I think HTC software is a bit tight to allow 3rd party software into the game. Again, I'm sure Hitech is far smarter than most of us and if he wanted to put a stop to it he could. This is another of those instances where the "quite" is deafening from HTC. They could end all discussion about it by posting one statement. After that we all stay and live with what ever they have decided, or leave. At least we would know where the line is.
