I find it so amazing people are so obsessed with what players do outside of the game as if to justify their shortcomings inside the game. What's even more hilarious, is the majority of the real world detectives are grown men with nothing better to do. In the end it doesn't make a difference in anyone's life and how good / bad they are at the game.

"I think you lied about your real life occupation, therefore when you get a kill on me in the game, I can justify my loss."

No, sorry, that's kind of warped bass-ackward. What's really amazing is when anyone in any community (be it an online game or a quilting bee) resorts to lying about themselves in order to build some sort of status or to legitimize their opinions. If it's all about game skill (or quilting skill or whatever) then all lying does is reflect poor character .... which actually detracts, in the long run (especially lies about military achievement/status ...... in this community). This isn't a forum populated by just kiddies who've never experienced anything but a game.

Kind of reminds me of another player that claimed to be a helo pilot in the army but yet never finished the training program.  But I guess that's not a result of any shortcomings he has, right?

ack-ack

Scorpions and the CIA and what. Then there's the father who flew B-17s in WWII and the son owning warbirds and such.

This is what you have an issue with? Weak spin by the way.

In the end, then...why are they lying?

I was a member of the Damned for some years when good guys like Coach, Buzz, Fool, DmdDano, Max, Silat, Drano, Phantom, DmdRodan, TC, Jordi, and many others played this game and were a respected part of the community. This current group of Damned are an embarrassment and a disgrace to the legacy of the original squad. I am appalled at the constant negative emotions they elicit and the fact that they think everyone else is wrong.

Very sad.

If I can offer one suggestion to the new Damned.....stop posting on this BBS. Enjoy the game and when your not playing read a book. In a few years maybe people in here will forget what immature jerks you were.

Lawn,

Don't think Slash was talking to you.  I think he was responding to Kruel. :salute

Some of us like to call BS on those that pretend to be in the military or served.  If you want to blame anyone, blame your little buddy GhostCDB, none of us told him to lie about being a midshipman at the USNA.  It's sad that he feels that he has so many shortcomings as a human being that he has to lie to make himself feel worthy.  I guess he felt he needed to impress us with lies about being a midshipman and a star of the academy wrestling team because he was just an average player in this game.

Kind of reminds me of another player that claimed to be a helo pilot in the army but yet never finished the training program.  But I guess that's not a result of any shortcomings he has, right?

He is in the USNA. He not only lives 30 mins from me, AT the academy but talks about it all the time and had even posted pics.

Did you visit him at the USNA?  According to the person that spoke to Lt. W. Burke at the Commandant's Office by phone, there isn't anyone registered at that school with Ghost's name nor do they appear to be members of the academy's wresting team, which you can easily verify by looking up the team's roster.
