Favorite Boss Fight?
« on: March 25, 2015, 07:38:16 PM »
Well, we seem to have had a few "Favorites" threads, so I figured I'd start one:

If you could pick from any one video game, what is your favorite boss battle?

I'd have to go with the fight against Nox from Child of Light.

If you were to describe any one game as "beautiful," Child of Light would be it; the use of visuals, the characters, the themes, it's only real flaw was its length. I was actually PISSED going into this battle after what Nox did to the protagonist earlier in the game, as they succeeded in making this much more than just another boss fight: it was actually PERSONAL. This combined with the music (an amazing score all-around) makes it not only makes it my favorite boss battle, but one of my favorite game moments EVER.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Some of the primal boss battles in FFXIV: AAR were a hard pain in the bellybutton battles until it was made easier.

Pretty much every boss fight in Metal Gear Solid.  If I had to pick one, Psycho Mantis.

How about the flight back to base after the Journey Home mission in AC5?  :D

I LOVE the Aces Combat series! It's the game of my childhood  ;) . 4 was superb and that final mission during a meteor shower with missiles being launched everywhere, Yellow squadrons final stand, and THAT SOUNDTRACK! 5 was just the BEST in terms of the story. Truly an amazing gamee! 0 was probably my favorite. I just love how we finally got to experience the Belkan war first-hand and how it plays into AC5's story, and who doesn't get excited about "The Demon Lord of the Roundtable"? :) . 6 didn't feel like it quite lived up to what 4,5, and 0 had but it was still a VERY solid and great game with a superb soundtrack. I HATED that it only came out on the 360 because I didn't own one, but I finally did get to play it and I did not regret it ;)

The other Firefox in the arcade game of the same name, the one you had to feed money into.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

All of the bosses in Karazhan in World of Warcraft from the Burning Crusade expansion.
Kara was such a beautiful place and the bosses each offered unique and fun challenges, plus they dropped gear you needed to successfully do 25 man raids.

Yes! Such an epic soundtrack!!  :aok

I like to play "Mayhem" or "Zero" or "First Flight" or "Fortress" or... ANY Aces Combat song from 4,5,6, and 0 when I'm fighting massive hordes in the MA :)
