I wish it was that simple. Wiki is a whole new language. Learning it is more art, than science.
I see, that explains a lot actually, I would have thought it would be a simple or common language they would have used. Google yielded few possibilities in terms of a beginners how-to on repairing broken wikis, I just hoped it was a matter of "not enough time", yet it being a common enough problem that average joe could work on. Obviously not the case. I'm still interested in trying to help, I'll see what can be done. I've got 5 volunteers myself included interested already in just a few hours of asking, unfortunately none of us has experience - yet.
I'm a complete noob at it, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how there can be 10,000 errors on something that says there is 364 content pages, with 2500 or so total pages in the statistics button on the wiki in total, (it says -All pages in the wiki, including talk pages, redirects, etc) for those 2600 odd pages. Would that mean there is on average 4 broken links or errors on each of those 2500 pages to equal 10,000 total? I'm missing something here I get the feeling, can anyone who understands this PM me an explanation of what is happening exactly, and what's involved in fixing it? I clicked through the wikia link HT provided, and in a few minutes of jumping around, I couldn't find anything that glaringly stuck out as a "page not found" error. Again, I'm missing something I think.
I do think it's an important part of the product, and having it repaired, and most importantly modernized would be a good thing and good timing with the new version coming out. I think with the right person (not me) who knows more about this would could take point on delegation and training, I could get volunteers in the double digits working on it weekly.
