  Ok, here is another question: which will show that the aircraft is climbing or descending first:

The airspeed indicator

the vertical speed indicator

The altimeter

The directional gyo

Altimeter would be my guess, or perhaps the gyro. The VSI has lag as a result of its function. Airspeed is not necessarily affected by altitude loss.

No the vertical speed indicator is a "trend" instrument, should never be use as a primary instrument at any time!m the correct answer is the altimeter, which will show the first loss or gain of altitude.

Altimeter is the correct answer as far as "raw" data instruments. Of course the radar altimeter would also show first loss or gain of altitude.
