I don't know about you guys, but on a large map, with our HQ downed, half my squad simply log, me among them.

Game play do NOT get promoted because one set of bombers get through and kill it.

I'm sure Lusche can make a chart of how numbers go down when HQ is downed for a country.

My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

I mean really....come on. This game doesn't appeal to the masses, I don't think it's intended to. Few come and fewer stay. It's not an easy game and frankly only those who are interested in WW2 fighting would even try it out. Add in that it's not arcade, and even the players we deride have more skill than those who play the other "sims". I agree with wizz that our word of mouth is the best advertisement, and seeing all the whine threads about the same old boring horse hockey isn't going to draw people in. It's a shame that the whine threads outnumber threads of real interest to those who play and those who MIGHT play. I'd almost be willing to bet that this forum couldn't go even one week with out someone starting a BMW thread. If I had looked at the forums before I started, I probably would have gone somewhere else. IT'S A GREAT DAMNED GAME! THANK YOU DALE AND ROY and the rest of you who put up with our crap and give us great fun in spite of ourselves!

I agree, its a great game! It's just too bad some players seem to want to go out of their way to ruin the fun for most of the other players.

Those of us who point out these "problems" we see in the game do so because we REALLY REALLY like this game. We are not trashing the game as a whole, but there are problems that have crept into the game play that should be addressed. When the population got too high and the game became a "cesspool" I believe it was called, they split the main arena into two arenas to levitate that issue. When the problem of cap issues came up in that two arena system they built the graduating cap system. When there was nothing but NOEs for missions and and we all played "wack a mole" trying to defend against them they changed the radar settings.

Well its time they adjust the HQ settings now for a start. Maybe a tweak added to auto adjust ENY levels when the number drop low during Euro times. Small adjustments like these can help the game play better. If the game plays better, less people leave. If less people leave there becomes more word of mouth about this game because the players are playing THIS game, not moving on to some other game.

These are certainly NOT the best game play in years. If it was people wouldn't be leaving. Can it be the best? You can bet your sweet A....!!!! The game potential is still there in this game, however due to how it is played and other "adapting" to that play we have lost many of the great and wildly fun missions and aspects we use to enjoy.

Why take a bunch of buffs with cover to attack a base when you can do it in half the time with heavy fighters? Well in the old days it was a lot of fun. Picture a flying bar and your all in there having a great time when the next thing you know a great bar fight breaks outs! The best part is nobody gets arrested, and you can do it over and over again.

The fun has been taken away as we now have to "work" to keep dar up. We have to "work" to find fights. We have to work to slow the hordes. I already work 50 hours a week not to mention taking care of my family and the house. I don't really want to have to "work" to play and have fun too.

If the dar is out, and you have a group of squadies on, go to the middle of the map and pick 110s or any other attack destroyer like 38s or 47s, and rick roll a base!

You can go NOE, high or right off a CV!

The catch is!

Enemy planes might roll! The other team may take notice and fight back!! TAAADAAHH a fight, ladies and gentlemen.

Or you can do my favorite and simply tell the other team over 200 you and your group of fellas are about to go bust up a base! And talk tons of crap as you are tearing down their base. The enemies will come!

If you can't find a fight, start one!!

No comment about the after hours. I just talk crap until people start to look for me.

Just gotta figure out how to find fights. Go to basses that are flashing and look around. Ask people. Pm someone on the other team for god sakes.

I admit.. Sometimes it can be dull. I understand what you guys are saying completely. Wizz is just trying to be the bomber version of Skyyr hahahaha! No pun intended.

You can do it!! The fights are out there! Don't be afraid to up in that big red horde you pansies. Die for your countries!

Thanks Ink.  Yeah, I usually try one or two rational and respectful replies before giving up on them. When that fails, we fortunately have an ignore list feature on the forum and .squelch in game, so I don't need to read the never-ending drivel or feel compelled to interact with the Midways, Manawars, Skyyrs, etc. of the world.  They are simply not worth the time or energy, so why give them the attention they crave?

That's my approach, anyway.

For those of us playing this game for well over a decade, Aces High is more of a social club. The game just provides the framework. I keep logging in for the people and Pipz was the kind that you keep coming to meet again.

If you can't find a fight, start one!!

I've had some success by announcing my position, my altitude, my destination and the type of plane I'm flying.  Typically someone wants to come fight, and once you get a fight going in a known spot, more will gravitate to that area.

Wizz theres nothing more pathetic then someone who thinks they are smarter then everyone else and whose little mind games reflect that narcissism. I dont know who you were before you became "Wizz" but Ive been "bombrich" since day 1. I hit the game at its height and while the game play was spectacular the "codes" of the players were even more so.

"Codes"?

"Codes" meant lotsa experienced players in the TA helping noobs out learning the game. Ghost may have sat on the runway but it was many others that taught noobs to play. "Codes" always stopped me from flying to a VH base and griefing GV's just cause I could back when I was a top tank killer. They had their game, I had mine. Unless they were rolling an airbase I left them to their game.

We even had players who would let a wounded enemy fly home after an honorable fight. There were many more <S>'s given, as in far, far more. Bomber sticks always tried to make it home unless life just made it impossible. If HQs were attacked there was plenty of warning cause we came in at 20,000'. Our intent not to grief but to have a big fight.

Honestly after reading your BS and all your supposed mind games Im starting to think the game is dead for good. About 2/3rds gone and how many that come back yathink are actually new players? I think they are just recycled old ones. Did you ever think what your cute little antics do to the few noobs we might have trying to learn the game when your NOE Lanc attacks on HQs make about 60 log off within minutes of your bomb and bail? And what noobs that remain stumble around trying to find a fight and learn the game. Not that there are any noobs to do so mind you.

Yeah your a slick little guy. You have the entire world fooled cause your so smart.

Sadly, I am not grateful anymore.   I will be gone by six pm.  When the HQ griefing is remedied I will maybe be back.  (Yes, I can hear the jokes:  SOFTEN HQ SO HE WON'T RETURN!). Enough is enough.  It just isn't fun this way.  I won't even get into how ENY totally kneecapped the best rolling battle in MONTHS last week.  :bhead
