370th FG 485th FS P-38J
« on: April 15, 2015, 05:40:02 PM »
"My Little Pig" was flown by Lt. Jack Jarrell, Jr.  He was hit in a dogfight on 14 Dec 1944 and bailed out.  He remains listed as missing in action.

Very nice!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

It's a P-38! What's not to like?

Thank you for finding that thread Lyric.  I had found this skin again in my backups and have been working t finish it up.  I'll submit today and hopefully it'll make the May skin release.    This is the last of my old P-38 skins I think.    From now on I;ll have to learn to use the bmp and specular maps and not the material txt file.
I can get away with it for this one because its flat painted all over, but the is another 370th 38J I've been eyeing, Margie II, with nose art of an outhouse being struck by lightning.  This aircraft has same OD color scheme as My Little Pig, however the fuselage to wing fillet is bare metal, so a pefect application for the specular map.

Margie II is a good one.

Lets see it, JV!   Is it olive drab or bare metal?  What format is your template?  I use Photoshop, so I work with .psd files.   Not sure if I can open Paintshop Pro or Gimp files.

I have very complete templates I think of all the P-38s, having thoroughly studied Fester's ultra-detailed P-38 skins.   My earliest P-38 skin, Happy Jacks Go Buggy of the 20th FG, is not very good, but I plan to plate that when Skuzzy can support updates to existing skins.
