i'm guessing that would turn the plane into a pig.  It might actually wind up handling worse than an A8.  But yes please.  We need these guns to deal effectively with bombers.  :devil

I don't believe it was used in the anti-air role regularly, being primarily for anti-tank work.  So it would likely be all AP. :)

Actually it was used to take down 4 engine heavies and only saw limited use in ground attack.I did find some evidence that it was used to attack shipping and railways so I would think you would have a mixed belt, atleast until we can select the type of ammo or a perked ords system is in place.

That said with 66 rounds and central mounting,it would have the GV guys screaming "perk it"..... :devil

Perhaps just two different guns with different ammunition types as an interim? The 110 doesn't have so many belly options that it would make it excessive.

Then I say give it an ammo type selection.  :aok Don't think it would need perking.  :D

I dont think it needs a perk either but as I said the GV guys likely would think otherwise!

Since the rear gunner loaded the gun,I would like to be able to choose AP,HE or a mix. Maybe you could select the amount of mags of whatever type ammo you would like.

The U12 modification added a gunpods to replace the MG/FF cannons, each containing 2 MG151/20 cannons. This brought the armament up to 2 MG17/7.92 and 6 MG151/20mm guns but also brought upon decreased performance. Fire away.

It would be an interesting add-on if Aces High introduces "perked weapons" and "performance" options.

190a8's 30mm are much more effective than the 6*20mm is you don't go for the tail chase, also its better armoured than the A5.
It would turn the plane into a pig, and no perks would be needed.

Germans moved to a better armoured A8 instead with 4*20mm and 2*13mm for the fighter version, and 2*20 2*30mm and no Mg's for the Sturmböcke
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

Thinking on it, I'd rather see the 190 models fleshed out. A-3 or 4, A8 split into early and late models, and perhaps an early F model.

Yes on the early A. The A-8 should be split into a standard model (sans 30mm) and the A8-R8 (30mm in the wings, armored plate, and windscreen and canopy, 13mm MG delete)

I think of how sluggish this AC would be in a dogfight = meat on the table.

During late 1943 the Germans were on air defense of the Reich defending against B-17's and B-24s. Problem was the allies best long range fighter was the P-47 with a single drop tank, the spitfire had a much shorter range, neither had the range to escort the bombers to the targets and back. Second Raid on Schweinfurt shows a good example of the BR 21 rockets being used on a large scale against unescorted bombers. The luftwaffe also adopted dropping 250kg bombs with delay fuses in formations of bombers. The germans started putting heavy weapons on the 110G and 410 because they felt a need for larger weapons against the bombers, however with the arrival of the P-51B everything changed. Fw-190s were being escorted by Me-109s since the 190s couldn't defend themselves since they were upgunned.

Reminds me of one of the first FSO's I flew, I had to fly the A8, think I downed 8 B-17s in one pass from a head on attack, then pretty much got swatted off by 51s and 47s, I couldn't even catch the tail end of the bombers because the fighters were all over the place and the 190 was sluggish as it is at 25k with 30mm options.
