I don't think that Pearl Harbor is a good movie.  It isn't one of the worst movies I've ever seen, though.  In that category is Cujo.

Excellent war movies, in my opinion:
A Bridge Too Far
Patton
Lawrence of Arabia
Midway
Das Boot
Twelve O'Clock High
Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo
Saving Private Ryan
Battle of Britain
Downfall
When Will they ever make a good WW2 film......I think Clint eastwood need to work on that one. Red tails looked so cheap and crappy.....I wana see German, Jap, Italian, american, naval fighters perspectives.....Story telling...Family Values, Passion for flying....Nothing even close to that.

As you live in Africa, you may not understand Hollywood. For the Americans commenting in the thread, they know exactly why Affleck wanted this hidden; since we can not discuss things of Rule 14, I can't go any further.

They're casting their bait over there, see?

I am embarrassed of some of the things my ancestors did.  hell I am embarrassed of some of the things I did in vegas this weekend with my gf.  trust me what happens in vegas doesnt stay in vegas if you take somebody that posts to facebook every 20 minutes.

and yes I would ask any network to not let anybody know what I did this weekend.  then again everybody on facebook already knows.

Slavery hasn't gone anywhere. It just changed from a private business to a thing called the government enslaving us all.

So what? Ninety nine point nine percent of europeans, north americans, south americans got their surnames from their owners. We burned down the roman empire, we conquered britain, we conquered the americas and then we conquered the moon. So shut up, open a cold one, light a bowl.

And turn it up.

I wana see German, Jap, Italian, american, naval fighters perspectives.....

Me, too.

Films with other than for the American side are harder to find.  Ones I've seen there include:

Grave of the Fireflies (one of the best, but saddest, films I've ever seen)
Das Boot (great movie)
Downfall (great movie)
Battle of Britain (great movie)
Dark Blue World (good movie)
Yamato (2005 movie, OK movie)
Enemy at the Gates (mediocre movie, the real story being so much better)
The Beast (very good movie)
Tai Guk Gi (decent movie)
Come and See (highly rated -- I hated it and stopped watching part way through)
Galipoli (great movie)
Lawrence of Arabia (great movie)
