When not using TrackIR in the cockpit, I tend to use F3, F8 and my hat switch to pan my view around.

I had to pop in offline and check to see why I don't use mouse views.  It's too slow to track, and you have to hit a key to get back to a forward view or you'll be dragging back.  I'm sure I could mess around with the options to get it to roughly what War Thunder has, but feh.  It's easier for me to F3/F8(?)(I can't remember if it's F8 or F9 that does a "slow" scan vs the snap scan) and scan for targets while in a bomber/GV.  And the default method of scanning with num key's works in a fighter for me.

If you are going to keep it, it will need to be changed.  Hitting and holding a key, using the mouse to scan, then letting go of the key for your view to snap back forward; set as a default method would work.  It's default scan speed would need to be boosted a lot, to help with searching for/tracking cons until engaged.

If you are going to get rid of it, it won't bother me as I currently do not use it.

Never knew there was a mouse view.

Not likely to start using it now.

I use mouse for both viewing and gunning when in gunner's position in bombers.  Use the hat switch and mouse to view in F3, F4, F5 nad F8 modes at different times.  Also use mouse in gun positions in vehicles, ships and manned guns on fields.

It would be nice if mouse-view could be mapped to axes, so one could use the hatswitch for the current functionality found in mouse-view (effectively pan views mapped to X and Y inputs). A speed option that controls the speed of the panning would be nice as well, and would likely close the learning curve required for mapping preset views.

I don't have TrackIR and if your on auto-climb I don't want to put my hand on the stick to use hat switches...if I'm not climbing for very long I don't use it...

Mouse View is automatically activated when you log into the game. Shift + M will disable it. I don't use it since my left hand is on the keypad and my mouse is a bit far away from hand reach. I hardly use the mouse. I only use it when checking my E6B, Roster, or needing to check my control options and also while in the hangar. Most times I use the dot commands. By the way Hitech, Why did you ask this question?

Rarely, but I do.

I use keyboard for 95% most of my viewing needs. I use the mouse to look around when cruising on auto-level, and to scout for GVs while flying low.

Was seeing if I could get rid of it, obviously I can not. I am rewrite a new mouse plane control,( don't panic the old system is also in place) and it can easily conflict with mouse views and gui control. I was debating how to implant things.

I believe this is called pressing F8.

The mouse control tends to be a major problem with new players. They hit the wrong key and often ask for help.

I'd rather it was done away with, or at the very least make a message appear at the top of the screen. A message that can be disabled in settings, but something like;

Mouse view enabled, hit H to return to normal.

No. F3 and view keys are sufficient in bombers.

In fighters, it's somewhere between useless and actively detrimental if you accidentally toggle it on.

Never figured out how to use it and I've had TR since 2003.

Delirium has a point here, along with a need for even us vets. That on the front page of the clipboard, you can toggle a flip out page with all of your current keyboard assignments. We are no longer the AW generation who reveled in digging for answers in our games while keeping print outs next to the keyboard.
