Give the Goony Bird the option of formation flying. It was common in WW II. Three times the supplies, three timed the troops. More targets for the ack and fighters. Every body wins.

If a single player could drop 3 times the troops, the requirement of capturing the base would also be increased by that much.
Same for supplies.

Same for supplies?  I once calculated how long it would take me to get the radar strat back up on a particular map.  It was listed down for about 160 min.  The C47 trip from the nearest base was 13 minutes.  That means the quickest I could get the strat back up, with each trip only taking 4 min off the down time, was two solid hours of doing nothing but flying a C47 to the strat.  Exciting.  (Your answer is "defend the strat"?  Well, the radar strat has no... wait for it... radar.  So it is nearly impossible to defend without wasting all evening loitering over it.)

How about at least give us a perked transport, say the C54 (DC4) with say 2 to 3 boxes each (load cap of DC4 is ~20K lbs, DC3 is ~8K lbs).

Yes.

Because the resupply rates have been set by HT for a specific effect he wanted to have. If he wanted to have a quicker resupply, he could set that very easily without having to add goon formations. If we want to have faster resupply for factories, we could simply ask for that.

So because HT wants to have a specific amount of effort/time for resupply, he would adjust the resupply efficiency accordingly if you suddenly carried 3 times as many supplies to preserve this general setting.

Perked objects only make some sense when there's a reasonable rsik of losing them. Resupplying a factory is practically a non combat effort that has little to no risk attached to it. The perks of a transport plane formation wouldn't really matter. Unless HTC would also fundamentally alter the perk mechanism in a way that you would definitely have to spend them on takeoff with no return.

So you're saying HT wants me to spend 2 solid hours resupplying the trivially destroyable radar strat.  Got it.

Last night when I got on our city was at 40% so I started resupping. When I got it up to 54% the bomb and bail started taking it back down. Yes I upped to defend only to have the inbound bombers bail when I got near. It does seem that allowing formations from  the nearest field is a counter to the bomb and bail.

Actually, yes. I'm not saying if this is right or not, but the settings were not set randomly.

A perked c-54 would requier the pilot to return it to base instead of bailing after drop as the routine is with the c-47. So in reality it would not add any transport capacity. C-47 would do 2 runs in the time the c-54 do one.

Ah! But I for one would be more than willing to spend bomber perks like a sailor to drop 3 times the supply's and NOT flyback.

Just increase the puffy ack over the strats...  Eliminates the need to do anything additional with the C47.

I understand the frustration in resupplying strats and HQ.  But I don't think adjusting the C47 to formations would be the answer IMHO.  I like where you are going with it though.

Maybe more batteries at least 25 miles out...

Make it tougher for 1 lanc to drop a HQ.

I am all about strat runs.  in fact, my squad gets together in B29s and make strat runs a lot.  It is fun, and we risk bomber perkies doing it so others do have the chance to rack up points defending.

But I still get hung up on the single set of lancs able to drop a HQ.   :x

Actually, now that the strats had been split up to a multitude of single targets and put much closer to the front on most maps (where they are often indefensible), the old central strat downtime setting of 180 minutes makes no sense anymore.
