Jimmy,

The higher numbers back in Fugi's Halcion days meant statistically large groups of newbs who followed their favorite vets learning the game. Ecstatically doing what they were told. There was an Order to that universe. FBDred was a rock star who was begged for missions the moment he logged on with 3 wings of Free Birds to make it work. Newbs followed and did anything he asked. Bish and Rooks had their rock stars like FBDred with newbs ecstatic to do as they were told.

This offset the statistically smaller pool of "twitch and jerk" players with attention spans of gnats. Today we are dominated by the attention span of gnats. And the gnats tell players like Dred and Fugi to stick it.

What is missing from this formula? A large pool of Newbs who ecstatically do as they are told.

How does that work? Newbs did as they were told back then against a high turn over rate between 3 and 9 months. And there was a constant influx of replacements. Also meant a higher probability of landing kills in such a Newb saturated environment by sadistic vets. So for self preservation the Newbs followed the rock stars and did as they were told until they quit or became sadistic vets. See a vicious circle here.

Ever wondered what happens in a combat game with an over abundance of bored vets who won't do as they are begged, versus too few Newbs? Welcome to Aces High 2015.

I have faith AH3 will instill a new groov for us all.

My suggestion would be to assign certain aircraft to certain hangars, example: hangar #2 at small field, P-51's, Spit 9 and 10, P-47-D25's and so forth. So if a player wanted to limit the "Ponies" around, just kill hangar #2 at all small fields!

This is an interesting idea, but I don't think it would work well in the main arenas.  However,  captain1ma just started another thread asking for interesting ideas for the AVA, and this looks like it just might fit.

As for posting suggestions, don't stop!  Even if someone else pokes holes in it, at least it gets us thinking.  And, who knows? You just might just come up with an idea that revolutionizes the game.  I hear that once upon a time there was this guy who had a crazy idea about an online computer game where people could fight each other in WWII airplanes......

great first people are killing hq all the time.   Now limit me from flying my favorite airplane.   Give me another reason to quit.

All of the sudden I like the idea.

Just limit the HQ down effects...
Some ppl only play 30min-1h due to IRL, and when numbers are low+HQ down, its really a waste of money...
Some will say resup, but when 10-12 ppl only are logged on your side, its impossible to get HQ back as fast as when 150 are logged on your side at same time. :bhead

Air warrior had a spit factory. Kill that, and you couldn't up a spitfire for like 15 minutes.  Personally, if they clustered some plane factories n here, but not having stupid long downtimes, I think this would be a fun strategic target.
