And that was a test for our ARMY medial professionals. The lady capt was not a combat soldier and she still did it. No wonder our guys survive if our medics can reach them.

Well done that woman. But I married one like that too. Not a soldier but this weekend my wife completed a marathon. She didn't run but walked the distance and even got lost twice. She made it in just under seven hours. She had the absolute minimum of training but she did it. I'm very proud of her. She's only a little woman, five foot nothing but determined with it. Never underestimate a woman.

I'm not surprised though, she once trekked to Everest base camp.

Having said that she's been in agony the last two days. She's tougher than me though.

Ranger is something else entirely. My reaction is to the Soldier's heart. It is immaterial the gender. The drive to push on when everything else says stop makes me proud.

This is what people need to aspire to become! She EARNED IT!

Unlike other areas of society where the "Participation" approach apparently applies....  Sorry to detract from this great story with the following tripe:

The details matter... 12 mile march with full kit in under 3 hours (her time was just under 2:47) and on that day there was an 80% fail rate.  I'm not sure what the completion rate for an average marathon is but she made a 20% cut in a field of people who must have thought they were prepared for that sort of thing.  Not many people have that much determination.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

test wasn't even required until 2008 and now it has been dropped.

:salute To the soldier's will power.  :salute

Fort Dix and the nearby Lakehurst and McGuire bases were almost decommissioned here in NJ but thankfully it is now a major Joint Base facility.

Thanks to all that man the Walls and keep the barbarians at bay.   :salute
