Glock 9mm Single stack- finally

I had a Kimber thing for awhiles but their prices are just outrageous. I know its a nice pistol but theres a lot of players in the 1911 market right now giving you better value. BTW I shot a Glock 34 the other day and for you 1911 Lovers, like me, your probably better off not even trying one. Seriously this thing is balanced and machined beautifully and I can get one super cheap if I order it. A few changes and your breaking a crisp 3 1/2 lb trigger, its so damn easy to take apart and clean, so accurate and cheap to shoot.

I never thought I'd consider competing with anything but a 1911 but now have to consider it.

I was unfortunate enough to get a lemon from Kimber a few years back. Must have been about the time of their quality control issues which I've heard have been remedied. It was a rather large disappointment to say the least after drooling about one for years and then dropping that much money. The upside is I traded it in on a Wilson and really didn't take much of a beating.


And for you guys finding it impossible to find .40 and .45, try Walmart where I see it every time I go. Or just download the ammobot app to your phone.

I dont "tell myself that" ; Ive been living it for over 30 years. Name one case where a person was convicted of murder due to the ammo they used.

That's not the point at all. The point is that whenever there is a shooting, and Trayvon Martin should have brought this to the forefront of your mind, the lawyers will attempt to charge with everything they can. In the case of reloading, which I have been doing for more than 40 years, they will certainly try "premeditated murder." Can they make it stick? Probably not, but the one time they do you will go from life in a dark hole to death row. If you want to take that chance, then go ahead. I certainly am not going to take the advice or opinion of someone on the Internet over something that could seriously impact my life.

I do not believe you have been doing this for 30 years, because this same debate has gone with concealed carry since the dawn of time.

For the last time name one case where a person has been convicted of murder due to ammo used. In fact even name one time the charges were brought for the sole reason the defendant used reloaded ammo.

The only reason I even carry a 9 is because you can get ammo for it easily. .40, and .45 are impossible to find, and if you have to actually use reloads on someone then it opens you to a whole new level of litigation.

These were your words. Not mine, yours! So exactly what "new level of litigation" does it open you up to?

And actually on the civilian side Ive been a Policeman for 32 years on two Dept.'s. Then I guess you could add 4 Military, so the actual number is 36.

 there's still shortages? one pd i do work for is saying that they're having a bit of a time getting .40, but really, it seems most everything is readily available now. at least around here.

There is here in MS . No 22cal or anything . Maybe a few boxes of 410's last week when I was in Walmart and One box of 270 cal for 40 buck's . For 20 dollars worth of ammo . I'm not paying that .

I too favor single stack 9mm 1911s.  My favorite pistol out of the 50+ I've owned in the last 15 yeas is my Nighthawk 1911 in 9mm.  I had a Para ord polymer frame 18 rnd 9mm 1911 as well.  Something great about the 9mm round in that 1911 frame that I really like.

Still, a single action pistol isn't optimal for some folks due to legalities, regulations, and such, and a striker fired polymer single stack has been long awaited from Glock.

As others have said, the Sig225 and in my country (Canada), the Sig220 in 9mm with the standard side magazine release (many are the old heel release, blah), are two I'll never sell, and I have 3 Sig 220 9mm, as they are rare, and one is staying NIB.  Single stack 9mm pistols are great IMO.  The grip angle of the 220 9mm is far superior to the P226 IMO, it points far more like a 1911, and less like the loaf of bread with a broom handle shoved in it like the 226 does for me.

We won't get the Glock single stack 9 or the 380 here in Canada for a while, somebody needs to make an extended barrel for them to get around our dumb 106mm barrel laws first.  I won't lose much sleep over that, but I'd still be interested to see them and see how they shoot.
