Command of others drones

My example,  During FSO one of my b-17's was hit in multiple fuel tanks and suffered other damage. I couldn't transfer fuel, and there was still 4o mins to target.
Realistically the plane would have headed home. But I had to drag it to target knowing it would run out of fuel.
having the ability to have someone else take control or better bomber management would be a plus!!!  there are some cons, but I would like I see it.

Hmmmm. Interesting conundrum. I know this isn't the same thing but, given that drone jeopardized your mission I wonder if you could have jumped to that plane then bailed? I know it would be a bomber loss/victory for an opposing pilot but it might make staying with the formation, easier. Again, I know it's not what you're asking for. Wait, I wonder if you could have jumped to that plane and switched its tanks?

I get the wish, but a single bomber pilot taking 3 planes and the place of 30 crew members is a pretty decent trade-off for having to dispose of a wounded drone occasionally.  If granted, my guess is that it would be some coding time for a feature that wouldn't be used often.

I would love the ability to change up the formation; line astern, line abreast, etc, etc.

I did burn fuel from the leaking tanks.... But it was still not gonna make it.
   
I just remember the old b-17 PC game.  It was a lot of fun managing fuel, feathering engines and flying crippled birds home. AH doesn't encorporate that yet.

I get a 'B-17 hair' from time to time. I've flown crips home. The way i understand it, if you switch to your dead engine and run RPM to zero then that's 'feathering it.'

I do know that if one of your drones loses an engine or two, you can jump to that plane and make it the lead to avoid it falling behind and losing it, but then the whole formation is slow.  As far as i know that's pretty much all you can do.

Last time I lost an engine on a drone, it did NOT slow down.  Flying a set of B-17's.  It lost another engine shortly after due to oil, and only then did it start to drop back.  I haven't tried to recreate this however, nor can I remember which engine it was that was shot out.
