Mouse view with aces high : Hitech please help

I have mapped the mouse (a microsoft intellimouse "optical")  to the two given axes of the joystick setup options.

I have set the Mouse X axis to be the horizontal(YAW) component and the Y for the vertical (PITCH).

I yeilded two results.

1. The first time I did this, The mouse view only worked when I held the right mouse button, while proceeding to move the mouse. With this, however I could only move my view about 180 degrees of the right side of my views. I could not see anything to the left 180 degrees of view YAW/PITCH.

2.I went back and tried differning options(maping to diffenerent Axis for the mouse) and to no avail. Infact after this, the mouse no longer looked at all.

What I find saddening is that I cannot for the life of me figure why this is occuring.

Does aces not support optical mouses?

If possible, Is there, or has anyone used the mouse view?

Most importantly, does/can the mouse view be IN the VIEWING mode at all times?? Meaning... can you simply move the mouse around and have the mouse look view (panning mode) without having to hold a mouse button down to activate it.

I use the mouse view sometimes. I have the same mouse you have. I have to press F8 for mouse and F7 to go back to my hat. Yes you have to hold the mouse button down for it to pan. Not very handy when useing the Saitek setup, need 3 hands to use it.

Ugh.. I feared that.  

I have played the IL2 demo, and it has a mouse view that pans around as you move without holding a button down.

Hitech could you please implement a mouse view that does not require a mouse button to be held down?

At most, when  bringing up the map, or other items that require mouse pointer interaction, possibly just disable the mouse view at those times?

Pan view gets you killed faster in AH. You can't pan your view with a mouse as fast as you can switch views with your joystick hat.

Mouse view might be nice for sight seeing, other than that it's a waste of programming.

Pan-Snap views are the best. True snap views aren't very good and the pan view just straight up sucks.

Using the mouse to pan views will get you killed a lot more.

Can you offer some Advice on how to adress the issue?

You may like a snap view. I prefere a mouse controled pan

Skurj, I have just recently tried the il2 demo and it has a mouse look.

In order to use it you just move your mouse.

The mouse is the virtual view, you can move to anywhere you want to look at with great presicion with the same speed as snap views.

Mouse view really shines when you are in a vertical/horizontal rolling scissors flight, or when loss of sight that is inherent with snap views limits one to.

Another benifit of having the mouse as a view, not requireing a button to be depressed, allows for the other buttons on the mouse to be used for things such as throttle, and other secondary flight/weapons systems.

My mouse has essentially 5 buttons on it, of which I would like to map my throttle to the buttons. One button for throttle up and the other for throttle down. I have read this setup and would like to try on aces.

I understand how mouse view works il2, is not the first sim to use it.  
I perhaps misinterpreted your post, I thought you were using your mouse to control the plane in lieu of a joystick, as well as using it for your views.

I'd love to use mouse view if i had 2 right hands..
