Cool pics, couldn't hit the notify button fast enough incase more pictures or more info was added to the thread.  My dads parents were from Hungary / Germany but got to the US before the war started, in fact before ww1 started. 

Not sure what happened to the rest of the family. One of his brothers may have made it to Canada much later.

My only "old (still in Germany) family pics" are of my Grandfather when he was in the Queens guard/cavalry approximately 1905 and my Grandmothers family home in Budapest.
