Oh I forgot the funny part...it was a lineman crew setting poles that hit it....

Funny part? Wow, all the times I have outages due to the morons at the water/sewer company. I've watched some of those idiots swinging on primary underground cable that they exposed while digging without locates.....

I'm a contract well tester/flowback hand.  Been doing this for almost 4 years now, went from salaried to contract last September.  No pics, at least none I can post.  Company rules and all that, they seem to think their equipment is some sort of trade secret I guess.
Trying to survive the downturn in oil prices.  Went from being out on jobs a minimum of 4-6 weeks each time, to 3 days to a week right now.  This is my 3rd or 4th time on this same well........sometimes when the big companies try to go cheap on equipment to save money, it ends up costing them a LOT more in the long run from the problems you run into.  This well is a classic example of what penny pinching can ultimately cost you.
Oh well, all I really need is 7-10 days of work each month to meet my financial obligations, so we are okay, plus I've had a chance to plug in the ole game controllers and get back into the arenas in AH.  Gotta look for that silver lining and all that, ya know.............

I WAS in oil patch but got laid off, was 3rd party with Halliburton frac, now I do dirt work for excavation company.  Want to get in with Halliburton once things turn back around, was the most enjoyable job I've had.  Man there was a flow back girl that could swing the hell out of a 10 lb sledge, she just couldn't carry the iron.

For the past 36 years, as lead Engineer I have designed and developed the ESAF, acceleration and impact sensors required for the following:

Hellfire and Hellfire II Romeo.

Tow II and TOW IIA

JDAM

David's Sling

Sea Sparrow

SM-3

JASSM

Griffin

SDB (Small Diameter Bomb)

FMU-139 Fuze

FMU-152 JPF

DAGR

APKWS

JAGM

SMAW II

M72E10 and beyond

As well as many other.... If it was developed in the US and it goes bang when it gets there, the odds are that my hardware made it do so.....
My regards,

Widewing

The great thing in life is that there's no 'best job in the world' but jobs that fits your personality. So someone's cool job is someone else LeSuck job.

I became a pilot because, probably like Scott and other truck drivers, I didn't want to feel like I was working for a living. I didn't want to fly jets/airline because nowadays you don't fly those things, you are just one of the imput to the flight computer.

Cargo suited me well, flying old stuff in what ever the weather was. It was the man and the machine Vs the elements, so you always had a sense of accomplishment and being bad ass.

The Metroliner still is my favorite because it was very mechanical. No safety override, steam gauges and knobs everywhere to actuate stuff.

Then I found a medevac outfit and I'm even more in love and it feels even less like work. I get to play video games or sleep while getting paid. (EMS - Earning Money Sleeping). When I get activated, I fly balls out with a purpose knowing I'm helping someone. Even if I have very little medical knowledge I get to be in the thick of it with the clinicians getting dirty. I sweet love it!

Despite our best efforts we don't always win :
