It's considered a "Pay to Win" game because while you can engage in the grind to get new planes and upgrades, the developers made it so it's a very grindy process while making it more convenient to spend money to get what you need.

I know that it is pay to win and why, it's the people that continue to play the game and complain about it that annoy me. If you don't want to pay, suck it up and play the game while maybe even feeling like you've accomplished something along the way. If they hate pay2win games so much, they shouldn't be there to complain in the first place.

I despise pay to play games as the playing field is only as level as the opposing players wallet versus your own.

I heard they are short on impatient squeakers.   

I played it once about 3 years ago and some angry russian player accused me of hacking when my non upgraded hurricane wooped his arse.   I much prefer angry rednecks calling me a hack.  They have a way with words that is much more dreamy.

In our game a few years back I over heard a player say he left squad A for squad B because he couldn't stand listening to all of the bubbas. Had to scratch my head on that one since he was from Tennessee. But, during some of my reading forays through the WT forums, one player gave Bruv's sentiment as his reason for not playing AH. He couldn't stand all the rednecks. I guess redneck is on the PC police's OK to use list because they are not an at risk species.

Seems Aces High has too many redneck bubbas for the refined sensibilities of todays modern enlightened gamers. Then it was a bunch of farm boy rednecks who actually gave the best measure of themselves in those real airplanes. Not a bunch of well educated enlightened Ben Affleck's.

Alpini, here is all you need to know about war blunder: how good could it be if they can't even figure out to make a hat switch work properly? that should tell you how serious they are about making a quality flying game.

You know. ..I was flying a set of B17s the other day to the Rook strats at 23k I jumped in f3 mode and looked at the beautiful different shades of blue water giving it that coral reef look surrounding island's and along the coast and was thinking. ...DAMN NICE JOB HTC ! It looked so tempting I just wanted to bail and go for a swim. .but I waited until a 152 shot me down instead. .the water is way to cold HTC turn up the temp. .thank you

The flight models and flight modes in War Thunder are a joke, yes the graphics are very nice but the aircraft suck. However, I will say that the ground combat in WT is a lot of fun and the tank combat is great.

Been playing a lot of world of tanks recently. Fun game, addictive, lots of things to master.

They are really, really good at draining your pocket in teeny, tiny little drips and drabs.

That said, you can choose to pay or not.

Personally, I don't see how I'm going to get set up with a Bert the Avenger unless I shell out fifteen bucks to convert free XP - my brain would die if I had to grind the XP via the Bishop. Same with the ISU-152. Gots me an IS-2 as an XP machine for Bert and as a credit machine for my coffee in the ELC.

I still suck though.

Tried it last week . To much like a arcade game.

Mayhaps because you had it set to arcade mode. Put it on simulation. The wait is long, who of us didnt grow up in the arcades standing behind other kids waiting to pump coin into a new game.

Aces high will always have the flight model. Right now war thunders graphics are killing it. The recent revamps to the damage model for all* aircraft is great. Its not the aces high standard of 0-100% dead part.

The tank game,is why i play war thunder. And again, on simulation.

If any game, gives you the option of arcade, and simulation. no matter pay, or free to play.. you choose simulation to get the best out of..anything.

On simulation mode WT is unplayable due to having no icons. A computer screen is much worse for view than real world, without an icon system you're at real disadvantage.
