Absolutely a well disciplined squad without question.

So much so that when on a mission they often would not break formation. Not even when under attack and their brethren dropping like flies all around them. They would simply fly straight and true

Such missions did wonders for ones K/D ratio LMAO

Reminded me of the Japanese pilot's discipline.  They would never break rank even when folks are dying all around them  Very true observation Dred.

As by my data, the squad we use to call affectionally "Vtards" came into existance in 2010

I'm going by the Aces high pilot stats; Tour 93.

Butcher did you used to be skychimp?

nope never used that name; dunno who that is either.

What was your name as a Pig?

Either Misconduc or Adonai; it wouldn't of been Butcher until after 2010; I don't think I was in the pigs very long, I only remember Syko as CO then.

The 'vtards' first appeared as such in tour 125. There were no pilot IDs with vXXXXv before that, and these are what in AH were called that way.

I interestingly never had v in my name.

I think you were a member of the incarnation prior to vTards, when they used oXXXo instead of vXXX

So in regards to MA game play it sounds like the vtards were trend setters. Or maybe just harbingers of what was to come.

Other squads of yesteryear  I recall as admiral foes-
L.T.A.R.S
M.A.W.'s
A.K.'s
Blue Knight's

 :old:
Ah, the LTARs.  Some awesome knock down, drag out GV base assaults from them.  I miss the vTards for a different reason.  They were like Pokemon..."Collect them all!"

And the AKs are still around.

You are absolutely correct; sorry my memories fading me - I couldn't have o's in my name as it would of been to long - makes sense, I certainly left when they switched to the V names.

So predominantly, at least in this thread, this squad is missed for the easy kills they provided? And it's HQ dropping that is killing the game.

I would much rather have my tucus handed to me by the Muppets than club seals.

In the main it was VERY enjoyable. However, what really made it special were the variations
on the attack theme. 110s NOE, Lancs NOE, P47s NOE, P51s NOE, P38s NOE. The deck looked
like a lice-infested Mongolian sheepskin rug.
Prior to the squadron's dismantling, Dallas ordered 'em to fly only 190D-9s and to
get up to 10 or 15K in 'em before arriving at a target. This greatly impacted their
"strategery" however as they were putting much less ords on their targets. As well,
a good percentage would be unable to pull up after a drop and auger.
What's wrong with easy kills? And let's be honest; getting pasted by the Muppets
is most assuredly -not- preferable.  :D

I dont recall the Brigade flying NOE that much. It did happen on occasion, but not nearly as much as you suggest. You may be confusing the Alch's with the Brigade. As the Alch's posted missions are usually NOE and then pop at the last minute.
