we can not see their quote :pray

see like this...I do not want to read anything that individual says....when someone quotes a person on ignore...we see it...we should not have to.

I find the ignore list there for a reason...instead of saying I would love to crush someones skull for all the murders he has committed.....I can ignore that dick.

We did not write the bulletin board software and hacking it is not wise as you can break the ability to do security patches, when SMF issues them.

I do agree that the ignore user function is not optimal.

I can see the function not tracking ownership or parsing names in all contexts. Instead "quote" effectively acting as a text copy and pasted under another account's context. That would be one heck of a context database just to protect everyone's eyes from seeing....... :O

Hey INK, you could always spend some time over at http://www.simplemachines.org/ and see if they have a module that Skuzzy can enhance the function with. I'm sure Skuzzy is short on time like most busy administrators. Just remember if you find something, it still may take a long time for Skuzzy to get to rolling it out if at all. It might be more trouble than it's worth including bugging up this very fine and stable BBS code we are using.

I find it easy to ignore people I dont want to read what they have to say. I just scroll past the post and not read it.

(Image removed from quote.)

This is a very good point that some pretend not to understand (I think). I've even seen board members make a really big to do about how much they are ignoring someone (which, ironically, seems to indicate their complete inability to actually do so). Anyhow, futile and useless subject, I suppose).

Well if INK is being stalked by a one eyed, hairy nosed, window licking adolescent. Yes, he needs a way to ignore all of that freak's posts. Can't you feel any sympathy for him. It must be very traumatic seeing the words being spoken by that freaks fingers.

No, don't get me wrong. I get along fine with Ink. I get along with Rich, too, best of my knowledge. Yes, maybe my advise to him (or anyone) would be not to fret over something not worth fretting over. I can't tell anyone who to like and not like. Not my place. But, like others have mentioned, I don't have a problem using 'manual mode' to ignore anyone. Course, I don't generally resort to ignoring, much less make a to do about the hard time I'm having doing so. Public forums are such a messy place. :)
