I really didn't mind that the dirt looked British. British dirt looks good under the tracks of a panzer.  :P

I thought it was a reasonably good war movie until the last battle, where my suspension of disbelief went completely AWOL. It would also have been a better movie if set in Normandy's bocage rather than Germany at the end of the war. Although I guess having to film in France might have been an issue.

I have a friend who worked as crew on that film. It was shot in the UK and in one sequence used the working Tiger from the Bovington Tank Museum. British dirt proved to be a problem for the Tiger. The Museum guys were worried that the soft ground would put too much of a strain on the tank's transmission so the film crew built a large concrete pad for the tiger to drive around on and covered that with dirt.

As far as recent wwII movies go Lore is much, much better than Fury. Though not an action movie, so simpletons probably won't like it.

I liked it. Really captured the horror of war, especially for sherman crews with such a low lifespan. As far as that last battle goes, sure it's a bit unbelievable, but then again so many movies are. We as an audience are captivated by "last stand" "against all odds" stories. At least that's how I see it.
