today i tried to use the track ir with my preset views only to find my preset views get disabled when using the track ir  and i am forced to make large head movements which is why i cannot use it. sure i can set up the profile to make short movements but it would be to my advantage if i could use my preset F10 views along with the track ir to eliminate the disorientation .

Heh.  You aren't alone!  I've been fussing with my new TrackIR for a couple of weeks now.  I can see the value, but it will be awhile before I can implement the value.  Meanwhile I'm a nice target for other folks, and people like Striker1 are working with me on close-in engagements.

I suspect the others have it right, though, get the fighting down first and then transition to the TrackIR.

Mike,

Drop by the TA sometime this week,I think I see something in your films that may help.

Muzzy makes a good point about switching from the spit but I think you still need some work on keeping the enemy in view and using the lift vector to do that.Once you get your head wrapped around that then I would suggest you change to another plane.

I would suggest a plane that you must use flaps in,as the spits dont really teach you how to use them.
