The greatest gem is FSO.  :rock

I was going to say 11:04 EST Friday Nights,  but that will suffice.   :aok
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I agree!!! I just dont do FSO. It's the same thing as what I described only from a different point of view. Success found through team work!

The FSO's are nothing like the game play found in the MA's.  The FSO's are truly THE jewel of Aces High, everything else is just practice.

The discovery of something helpful on any given day after having played the game for more than 10 years  :rock  I look up to those like Snailman, Soda, MrMidi, just to name a couple.  Yeah, I even have some respect for those I despise for killing me so easily.... (although I scream Cheatz!  everytime).

When I grow up, I also wish to be able to do a fraction of what Fester, Greebo, USRanger, Waffle and others do with artwork, objects and terrains.  Please keep it up, no other franchise will ever touch the raw talent that has me awe struck in Aces High.

Then to all the squadees, past and present, all the makers of the game, that we pester and annoy, and finally to my own family, that recognizes the moments spent here are a bit more than a hobby.

The greatest jewel of AH2 is the ability to fly/drive WW2 planes/vehicles with other WW2 enthusiasts and making friends along the way.  :aok

Exactly.

To expand on his.  Below is a screenshot from the first DGS scenario.  I looked at my film for the specific time as there was a conversation that took place that really hit home as an example of what Latrobe said in his post.

The 474th was outbound, climbing otw to meet up with the bombers we were escorting on a mission into "Germany".  No combat taking place, no kills, no won the war.  Just a bunch of like minded "friends" who had never really met, but due to a shared interest in WW2 and AH2 were "flying" together imagining what it was really like in November 1944.  The conversation on vox involved memories of relatives who served or vets we'd met.

In that moment it was 60 degrees below zero outside the cockpit and the smooth sound of the Allisons sang over the static in the headphones.  We were caught in the history and the men we were pretending to be.

$14.95 a month for that moment now and then is worth every penny.  Those moments are a far greater jewel than anything else could be in the game.

Guppy, thank you, as I agree completely with you.  We of JG11 remember and respect all members of the WW2 armed services but we do have a special place in our hearts for The Luftwaffe.

My first FSO with JG11, as we were in the tower, Stampf called out for quiet and focus and reminded everyone who we represented,  then he called for a roll out from the hanger.

We rolled up to our spots on the runway, cut the engines, as again Stampf gave his final briefing before take off.  I think my heart rate was about 160 just rolling to take off................

What game have you ever played that can do this for you?  I have never found anything like it nor have I heard of anything even close to it.

Everyone I play with is my friend:)

Zoned, one of the parts that gets lost in the MA is what both you and I were anticipating.   As we drove to meet the bombers we were building up to the combat we knew was coming.  As you were launching it was looking towards the intercept.

It wasn't about "winning the war" and resetting the map the fastest and easiest way.  It was about testing yourself against the other guy whether it be shooting down the bombers or as an escort trying to protect them.

When I ran the Mafia, this is how we played every squad night. Fighters climbing out to link up with buffs that had launched 20 minutes earlier from a different field. Nothing like spotting dots and see that it's the bomber stream you were aiming to meet up with. Flying to target knowing "they" were going to waiting for you. Win lose or draw, that is what the game was all about for me, and this was in the mains, no need to do a scenario, or an FSO type thing.

Its probably the thing I miss the most with how this game has changed.
