Not sure.  Since system manufacturer and system model are blank.  We cannot tell what motherboard you have.

Also, only other possible roadblocks would be the Power Supply.

A picture is worth a thousand words.  Some cards are dual slot (they take up more than one slot).  Some machines just don't have the room or their power supply is not adequate (or may need additional connectors).  I am going to guess this was a home build for gaming originally and if your Power Supply is anywhere from 500 to 750 W it will do (remember that is only a guess).

Chilli already pretty much nailed it. I'd like to add, that the motherboard most likely won't be any issue. Since you already have a GT430 on it, there obviously is a Pci-e slot for a video card. The generation of the slot and card don't have to match, they should be compatible by design. So the physical measurements are what count the most. Make sure there's enough space below the new card for sufficient airflow. Also, make sure that the cpu get's enough cooling air especially if your case is of the type where main intake is at the bottom end of the front panel.

As for the PSU, the GTX 960 isn't among the most power thirsty cards. If your PSU natively has a six pin video power connector, it should do at least for some time. Nvidia say that 400 W is the recommended minimum, so the 500-750 W Chilli mentioned should be just about right.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Fellas I really appreciate your input. It's an "I Buy Power" gaming computer (about 4 yrs old), don't remember what model. PSU is 500W. I'm at work as I type this, but as soon as I get home this evening I'll ascertain exactly what model, even take a pic of the inside. I don't think air flow will be a problem, as one entire side is perforated metal, and there are vents top and bottom front and back. I'll try to find out what the MB is, too.

OK there are a few questions I would ask you...

1. How many peripherals are you going to be running off your usb ports?

2. What type of monitor will you be running and at what resolution.

3. What name PSU, and what rating? Corsair gold platinum of bronze??

Don't worry about people saying its a low end card as I have 2 960 superclocked on my gaming rig running the alpha at 60fps on triple screen no problem and they dont even get warm.

1. Just stuff like wireless kb & mouse, Track-Ir, rudder pedals, HOTAS;
2. Asus 23" or 24" (something like that) monitor @ 1680 x 1050 res. (I think...nothing huge).
3. PSU 500W, I forget the brand, but it's a name you'd recognize, but not a Corsair.

You might want to invest in a self powered USB hub for most of the peripherals and then you should have no problem with the power to the vid card and MB. But that card should work great on the update.

OK, and update: I installed EVGA 02G-P4-2966-KR GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card and it barely fit in my mid-sized tower case, but it did fit, and it runs the alpha very well: 45-60 fps, all the bells and whistles turn on/up. Very please with my rig now.
