I had a guy once I caught on climbout, him in a TA152 at 15,000ft doing about 150IAS, me in a Tempest at 18,000ft doing 420IAS on full burn.  His defensive manoeuvre was a near vertical dive down to around 10,000ft and pull up into a 45 degree climb.....at which point the Tempest caught him and his plane suddenly found itself full of 20mm holes.

Over ch200 came:  "How did you do that?"

Me:  "er.....do what?"

Him: "Shoot me down, how?"

Me (very confused at the question):  "Er, well you were on climbout and I had a 3,000ft alt advantage and was doing 420."

Him: "Even so, you shouldn't have been able to do that.  I was in a TA152."

Me:  "Yeah, I was in a Tempest."

Him: "Yes, I can READ you know.  I want to know what you've edited to allow you to do those kind of manoeuvre."

???? WTF?

Didnt reply but.....if you know I was in a tempest and now it's been explained I had a MASSIVE E advantage before we started.....how is it you don't realise why you got shot down and somehow think I'm cheating?

Divvy.  Just ignore the idiots who believe the Top Gun slam-on-the-brakes-and-he'll-fly-right-by manoeuvre actually works.

When I die bury me in a P38.

I watch day after day, week after week, tour after tour, the Bishops and Rooks take bases and win maps while the Knights stand there with their thumbs stuck in their butts. It's just pathetic!

That is the only sure-fire way to be a leet #1 ace.  It was supposed to be a closely guarded secret, though.   :noid

Yes, you do.  :salute

You're not the only one.  Just about every 110C sortie of late has ended in absolute disaster.    :bhead

I'd rather have some Rudel pedals than rudder pedals. Otherwise, somewhere a village is missing an idiot. They come and go. The game goes on.

Considering how much I die I'm surprised I never got any taunting. For winning maybe once in a blue moon. I have come across at least 2 players who I genuinely think are mentally ill and think someone is controlling their computer. I figure there are a few genuine bullies in the game who exhalt in the facelessness of it, or maybe its just where their bad side is allowed to come out, but I figure cryptic short messages aren't going to change that. And then, at one point there were the children, I remember getting pm three times about not returning a salute while I was in the middle of a furball, all I could think was of an eight year olds voice getting more and more strident "I want a pony I want a pony, wahhhhh, daddy doesn't love me" yeesh. All in all it makes the good pms and the good fights seem all the sweeter.
