Being Swedish, I'm surprised he didn't go for the Gladiator.

Personally I'd like to see the Beaufighter and the H8K Emily. Make the latter available at ports and it would see some MA use.

No Westland Lysander with the mini bomb wings on the spats and 20mms mounted to the spats for anti german invasion beach duty during BoB? Now that would be a spotting plane to contend with the Storch..... :O

H8K Emily

Wow that thing is packed with 20mm cannons!  Dont take that one for an easy kill if you see it.

Actually all the wishes thus far in this thread are really good.  Be cool if the new version is released with a few new planes. ;-)

:salute

EDIT: Wonder if the H8K should be perked if introduced with all the cannons?  People could really abuse this bird.  A mobile flying artillery\sky scraper bird etc..  Then again, fly THAT into a horde! LOL.  In WWII less than 200 hundred were built is my understanding.

Now if we could get Hitech's favorite distillery to pick him up in a private jet for a tour back in the UK. And have him dropped off at his home by a limousine towing a trailer full of cases. And someone figure out what Waffle needs as a bribe. Hitech and Waffle might post snippets of rivet patterns so we can spend hours searching the Internet and our research collections trying to match them to WW2 rides not in the game.

Look where that got a team a few years back trying to match rivet patterns from a sheet of aluminum found in the Pacific to a Lockheed Electra. A contest like that might last 5 minutes against Greebo and other skinners..... :O

Ooops, doesn't Greebo make the skins for new rides?? Ok, Greebo gets replaced by Zak. No snippets of the tops of pies and everyone else has a chance.

Less than 200, but they saw very heavy use.  The largest surviving Axis airplane is an H8K2.

I don't think you'd need to perk the Emily, its Type 99 20 mm cannons had quite a low MV and RoF, the bomb load was nothing special for a four engined bomber and although it had a good top speed for a big bomber I can't see it having the altitude performance of an American heavy. There is also the issue of whether it would have formations.

Formations is debatable.  The Japanese did do some limited operation using small numbers of H8K2s in formation, but it could go either way.  I'd say yes to the formations in order to make it more useful.  As noted, the Type 99 Model I cannons aren't very good so I don't think it would be overpowered to have formations enabled.  It was a very tough aircraft as well, with a fully protected fuel system, engine armor and armor for all the crew positions.  It is probably tougher than a B-17G.

The H8K2's climb rate was very, very good for a heavy aircraft.  Not sure what it's altitude performance was like though.

I vote no to formations for the Emily, just to prevent the gun ship formations that would occur otherwise.

+1 for the H8K

would love to see the Boomerang too

The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.
