What plane set really floats your boat?
« on: September 28, 2015, 10:23:35 PM »
C'mon one set must really do it for you. Russian, Yank, Brit, German, Japanese ?

If you had to stay with one for a month which would it be. Lets throw in vehicles too, tho I know it would only be one of three with them.

If forced to pick I'd have to go Russian with Japanese being a close second. With armor it would have to be German.

German planes, but it's mostly just aesthetics for me. They just LOOK like killers.

Many of the Allied fighters look like they could be sport, or racing planes. But a 109? It looks like a machine designed for one thing, and one thing only; knock other stuff out of the sky.

Hawker Typhoon.

A flawed but mis-understood creation that oozes a sort of muscular charm that I find in no other WW2 fighter. Not the best fighter, not even the best fighter-bomber, but the aircraft and its pilots did the job down low while the Spitfire boys and the 8th AF got to swan around at 30,000 ft making headlines.

Decades ago, it was the US plane set.  Then, I learned about the various planes, and now all have appeal to me, as they all have interesting histories.

I often will stick with one plane for a month, as I practice what I'll be flying in the next scenario.

190D (or K4 if it fits your taste). They cannot run away and close combat is fun.
