headsets who's using what? how much? and how do you like it?
« on: October 01, 2015, 05:23:01 PM »
Well my who knows how many ears old Turtle beach headset  is falling apart. the mike has gone haywire now, the spring part around my big fat head has come out of one side!
Ive gone through three of these in the last 10 years, but this last set lasted a long time!

"Turtle beach ear force hpa2  6 channel" 5.1 sound

so I'm wanting to either upgrade or at least get as good as I had,, any one got some nice ones for a decent price to tell us about?
i don't need wireless although that would be cool! and I don't want to spend $200 on them,, when I bought this last set, i think they were $79 or so,, or I don't know,, maybe $149,, it's been to long!!
I know Alpha 88 bought some a few years ago but I'm not sure of the brand!

I just bought a 5 dollar adapter so I can use my phone earbuds. I'm a cheapskate so I've had 3 pair of headphones from Goodwill. They seem to wear out, had plantronics with padded muffs and logitech lightweigts. So far I like the earbuds and they are multiuse and seem to wear pretty well with the phone.

Have the Roccat Kave. Bought it used. Recently the mic refused to work if I rotated the mic too far down, and even more recently the speakers cut out one by one. This was my 5th and last surround sound headset, and I've turned my attention to this setup:

I am using the Hypercloud X. Very nice headset. The band is made of metal not plastic. I mate it to the Razor 7.1 virtual surround program. Great stuff!

Razor program. Turns any stereo headset into 7.1.

The Hypercloud II has a built in virtual 7.1 surround card.

Each are under 100 bucks. I am completely satisfied with my set.  :aok

logitech G35.
Good for the money for gaming (simulated 7.1).
Maybe not good enough for audiophiles, good with TrackIR.

Mic went on my Roccat Kave 5.1 and am thoroughly enjoying the Kingston Hyper X headset.

My mic went on mine due to jack daniels  :rofl :rofl

I bought another set of headphones and swapped  the mic which plugs in :rofl

I took it back and got a refund.

Does this mean i am going to the hot place?

Kave is the best headset on the market, it is recomended for the upate AHIII.
