Australia works to heal South Atlantic rift
« on: October 23, 2015, 06:45:09 AM »
Argentina to play Australia this weekend in the rugby, at Twickenham.

Look for tens of thousands of hard-core pommies in the stands, all chanting "Ar-gen-tina!"
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Heheh, I remember that one, the French did well, so well in fact that the Kiwi captain tried a couple of times to hand them the game. Haven't seen NZ play this time around, don't know if they do the throat-cut any more.

Well I guess they don't.

As a side note while looking I found the following, a haka from Samoa. (Siva Tau war dance).

Reading about it it looks as if it was a good game.  (I can not get live sports. :furious)  (Bit of a shame b/c I used to play as a kid for a short while).

Odd custom Haka is.

Here in the states, it's the downside of a cold.

Smart custom, it was a way before battle to demonstrate fitness and how well warriors worked as a team - giving a lesser side the opportunity to flee (australia should have taken this opportunity).

Haka = roid raging.

Lets see that in a battle though. One side does a haka, the other side aims their rifles.

Sure thing. That said, the Maori are about the only aboriginal people in the British Empire to have their culture taken up with respect by the colonisers.

Problem with the maori is they either stole your rifles the night before, or the other half of the group are sneaking up behind you while the haka districts you.

Oh and they were not adverse to a bit of BBQ'd "long pork"
